If you are able to up it to rapidshare or megaupload you could up that? Also when I tried the direct-link it looks like its down at the mo. But it usually does that from time to time.

 

Can someone send me the PM as well, i have read so many articles that I am confused as to what should be done.. I burned a CD with SwapMagic on it and it dint read the disk.. any help appreciated.

 

Just a quick question, if anyone happens to know. Lets say I have the original discs for SwapMagic 3.6, and burned copies of 3.8. Now 3.8 won't start by itself, but would it be possible to boot with 3.6, swap to 3.8, and then swap to your game, if for whatever reason the game is supported by 3.8 and not 3.6? And also, would anyone who has 3.8 be able to PM me or something and possibly "lend" me the image of the two discs, through megaupload or something?

cfharp thats what i wanted to do, and i did do it, but it doesnt work.
swap magic 3.6 is able to boot swap maic coder but then when you boot a game with it, it just goes back to the browser screen and you get the red screen saying insert ps1 or ps2 format disc.

Nah, you need hdloader for that.
You can download it from sksapps and use swap magic to load it.

Thats off course if you have a hdd, network adaptor and an old fat ps2

xplaya, you seem to know your stuff pretty good. so ok i have the fat ps2, and im not sure if i want to do the hdd thing or not, i have a couple externals, so i was thinking of going through usb, if possible, else no big deal. i dont have swap magic yet, and i was looking at 3.6 and 3.8, do you know the difference between the two? i cant really tell. oh and as for ripping/burning games, what program would you suggest? i've heard dvd decrypter is good, and i already have that. but then i also heard something about some program that puts in dummy sectors to fill the disc? and also what about discs that are larger than a normal dvd5 disc? i know there is information everywhere about this, but after you look it up for awhile people start to contradict what others says. thanks in advance for any and all your help.

 

You can use a usb hdd using a program called usbextreme (Better to buy swap magic and use a burnt copy). But the compatibility of the games are low. The internal hdd is way better and faster loading. But you need a network adaptor to plug the hdd in.

The difference between 3.6 and 3.8 is that 3.8 has codes and 3.6 dont. Unless you use the method in this thread.

Dvd decryptor is the only program I use to rip my games and then I burn then with nero.

About the discs that are larger then dvd-5 you HAVE to shrink them as swap magic wont play dual layered backups.

Ive never really needed to shrink my games because none of them are dual layered games, and it they are Id just stick it on my hdd.

Just google up shrinking ps2 games and you should find a few tutorials on the subject.

Also you can try getting this tool - Gnie's Tool ExPERT.
I know theres a tutorial using this tool but I cant find it.
