Swap Magic Problem HELP NEEDED BADLY

hi, I bough swap magic 3.6 and slide card a week ago, it took me a while to get use to the way the slide tool worked, but I can use it now, first i gave it a trial, I backed up Devil May Cry and burnt it to a DVD+R ( the make of the disc isent the best) i tryed it in the playstation to, done everything I was ament to do,the game booted and worked like a charm, then i backed up Ace Combat 5, burned it exactly the same way, done everything right.........."Invalid PS2 disc" appeared on the swap magic interface, i downloaded God Of War 2 burnt it tryed it on the same DVD+R......dident work.......tryed to burn it again on same disc.......dident work......tryed it on a DVD+RW............dident work,

Plz help me, ive read on the forum about a different way of booting with SW...something about putting in a PS2 original game when it asks for a bigger TOC disc.


BTW: THE GOD OF WAR 2 I DOWNLOADED IS A DVD9 TO DVD5

 

1. get some quality DVD's like Verbatim
2. You may want to try DVD-R and see if those work. I prefer the 8X speed
3. burn the ISO with IMGburn V2.1 at 4X speed

Swap Magic is just a cheap mod, some games will work, others will need to be rebuilt or patched.

 

i live in Ireland do u think that make of dvd would be around here? well i used alcohol 120% to make the devil may cry backup, which works

 

You can get ANY type of DVD on Ebay !

 

could someone plz tell me about this other booting method in swap magic, the one were u insert swap magic then u insert a original PS2 game then ur backup, plz a nice detailed tutorial tellin me when to use the slide tool and when to eject using the eject button.

sorry for the double post, but i need to also know is DVD-R better then DVD+R to burn backed-up games.

P.S DVD+R is better because it supports BookTyping.

 

this is nuts, well i got my ps2 when it came out so it must be between a version 1-4, which i read that the older ones like DVD-R more.

 

The only thing is that some games will REQUIRE booktyping so DVD+R is strongly recommended

not at all true. I have more games than i care to count and 98% of them are on 8X DVD-R and every one works. If he has a V1-V4 then he should ALWAYS use DVD-R and most PS2's prior to the V5/6 do not even read DVD+R. Not to mention the fact that some burners can not even booktype a disc in the first place.

as far as the other method of Swapping, either stick with Swap Magic and a slidecard (if you must, a fliptop would be easier) or get a reputable show who ships to your area to install a good mod chip (Matrix Infinity Green Dot, Crystal Chip V2.0 or DMS4 Pro SE).

 

hi, just wanted to say i finally got some dvd-R dsic, god of war 2 runs, i burnt it at 2.4x speed the music cut off and the game sometimes freezes for a split second, so i burnt the game at 4x, the thing is the disc speed is 4X max but ill try it later, i dident even have to set the video mode to NTSC, al i did just use the slide tool to insert the game and normal booted it and it ran.

 

yes you can get Verbatim in ireland.i get mine in "harvey normans" in tralee for €9.99 for a 25 pack.im sure other harvey normans sell the same type.
