I bought a swapmagic 3 dvd disk and it doesnt seem to work; it'll get past the playstation 2 logo screen to a black screen and just stall there. is this a result of the genuine sticker thats on the disk? i have older copies of swap magic (which dont work) and theres no sticker on them so I'm assuming its safe to remove the sticker? thanks in advance.

If you are sure its not working, then ask your retailer to exchange it.
Removing the label will make no difference.

I think you got a bad disk, when I bought my Swap Magic I had to wait 1 month because the current discs the retailer had where pressed badly. He told me they didnt even ran or got stuck. I think you have a bad pressed disk for sure. Just take it back to the retailer and ask for a new one (ask if he want to test it).
