Just to let you guys know, normally I remove all the subtitles to save space. Well with syriana you cant unless you speak arabic! LOL Just leave the 2 english tracks and ditch the french and spanish. Then when they speak arabic you will see what they are saying.
Get a note pad too, because the movie is hard to follow and sucks big time. Always keep the English subtitles if you speak English or French if it's French. A lot of the time they are needed for the reason you pointed out.
Lol I've done that - removed the subitles and the movie I did was half in German Oh well one wasted disc. Now I just keep the subtitles - you never know I agree garmoon - little too much going on that really lead to nowhere or maybe I'm missed something in the movie. Didn't see what all the hype was about.
@ garmoon, That is priceless LOL,LOL,LOL @ spidermn, i did exact same thing, and wasted another disk with the subtitles, should have watched without them maybe it would have been better
I've thought about sueing to get the cost of my verbatim dvd back. Syriana is the most UN----->WATCHABLE movie of this century!!!
Syriana, It's a test on reality, deals with a few truths that can be a hard to swallow. Kinda sends a wrecking ball through many common western world perceptions of middle eastern foreign politics. I applaud Clooney and crew for doing this film. Not hard to watch for me...but hard to digest for some. (Kinda Long).
Yall just need to check in the settings to always keep your spoken language. It takes up so little space. You never know if you'll become deaf in the future.
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for the folowing problem that I`ve encountered. I used the latest version of DVDFab to rip the entire movie to my HD. I used 2.4x rated Fujifilm DL (made in Taiwan) for the burning process with Nero 6.6.x.x. Movie ripped fine, burning process went fine. I slipped the disc into my standalone dvd player (tried both on an Lg and samsung) and everything worked ok until i try to get to the main menu, which doesn`t even appear. However, by pressing skip, i can then move on to the actual movie which plays perfectly. I verified whether an error cropped up during the ripping, but WinDVD played it with no problems i.e: I was able to get to the main menu, was able to access special features, etc. Does anyone have an idea what may be the problem?
@ draginoth, well DVDFab might have left some bad cells in there, so i would suggest u use either VobBlanker or FixVTS before running shrink to make sure everything is right. Heres vobBalnker http://jsoto.posunplugged.com/vobblanker.htm heres a guide http://www.dvdr-digest.com/articles/article_vobblanker_page1.html heres FixVTS http://www.videohelp.com/~FixVTS/ FixVts is more simple looking than VobBlanker Also try better media, those fuji, i think are prodisc which is not good quality this is the best media u can get Taiyo Yuden(Online) Verbatims Sony(MIJ) Maxell(MIJ) Fuji(MIJ) MIJ=made in Japan
To 300Bowler, The thing is, I don`t use Shrink for any compression purpose when doing a dual layer burn. I`ll give Vob a try when I rent another movie to process any lingering bad cells.
@ draginoth, sorry, i missed the DL part. I would try Imgburn to burn the DL disks http://www.imgburn.com/ Also the best DL media is verbatims, no doubt.
@dragoninoth Ditch those Fuji DLs and get some Verb DLs. My benQ won't even recognize them. Verbs are very good. Like 300Bowler said use ImgBurn to build the ISO and then Img Burn to burn it to a Verb DL. Should make all the difference.
