some guy on this thread told me that if you have a linux live cd it can install the system files but he hasn't replied to me yet... do you have windows xp cd?
[bold]tekmatrix_xp-live_no install operating system[/bold] windows xp with a twist. http://www.i'manidiot.com/cgi-bin/auction/view?cmd=view&listingID=3209 edited by ddp This is a great OS utility for the price given.no installation needed.just pop in the cd and run windows from cd.get your while they last.no cd keys or activation required.comes with cd burning software, antivirus ,antispyware, firefox explorer and more. A live CD contains an OS configured to run directly off the CD, ie, it need not be installed on the system. Just pop the CD into the system’s drive, boot from it and the OS will be up and running, without tampering with the OS loaded on your system’s hard drive. This can be a very handy tool for network administrators for tasks such as, recovering data from crashed desktops or doing other troubleshooting tasks. Companies that want to demonstrate their software products to clients could also use it. They would, however, need to integrate their product with the OS that is running on the live CD. Similarly, educational institutes could use it to provide training to students, or even cyber cafes could get diskless workstations, boot them off a live OS and provide Internet access. As we can see, there are plenty of uses for a live CD. Most live CDs till now had been based on Linux, with the most popular one being Knoppix. But, now there’s a live CD that runs Win XP.this is a good way to find out whats messing up your computer also.... http://www.i'manidiot.com/cgi-bin/auction/view?cmd=view&listingID=3209 edited by ddp

I had the same proble my self the problem is in windows hardware controler, in most cases it has to do with partitions on your harddrive, may they logical or fisical there are 3 way of corecting this 1. is to format and star from 000 2. is to edit you system regis try there is a articule at http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_haldll_missing.htm that explains corection 2 is to download the dll and see if that works most times it does not microsoft argues that it does but i found it does in most cases, 3. in the other is to go to this place there you can the file for free you will a way booting in to the OS for all cases a live cd is the bestway, 3-b.in this siete you can also see a comentary of recory that does work and have used my self but you will need xp cd rom to rocover does file ask a friend to lend there copy just to recove those file as in the explantion at this place http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?hal goodlock.
