system requirements

    I baught a DVD burner and the sys requierments are P4 2.4 512Mb ram and 128 vid any idea why they are so high it's a 16X dual layer searche the manufacture's web site but no luck on any info regarding the matter thanx in advance for the help

    The make and model of your burner would help us some. I don't think you actually needs those specs. We have members on here burning dvd movies with a 500 meg CPU. That will of course take a lot more time than with a 2gig CPU but can be done. Ram should be 512mb or better and HD free space needs to be around 12 to 15 gig. Not anything special needed other than ripping software and GOOD BLANK MEDIA.

    Did your burner come with some sort of software? That may be what the minimum requirements are for.

    Those minimums you listed are very high... for example Nero 6 minimums for real-time burning and capturing are 1.6Ghz P4, 128MB RAM and a 8MB video card.

    Like Jerry asked, we need to know what you actually have before we can say much about your question.
