Hi can any one tell me why is System Restore can track and reverse harmful changes to computer? Any one have information on this and what should I do best keep it on or off? I always need to do system restore from times to times because my small brother keeps messing up the computer and I do not want to format the whole system. Thank you
System restore is a disaster recovery feature in Microsoft Windows Me and XP. This feature allows the user to revert crucial operating system files back to a previous recorded state (known as a 'restore point'). There are several reasons why a user might want to perform a system restore, including to repair the operating system in the aftermath of infection by a computer virus or if the Windows registry has become corrupted. (from http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=e...+restore&sa=X&oi=glossary_definition&ct=title ) Keep it on at all times, once every few month's disable it, this will delete all data on previous restore point's, restart and enable it aggain as some infections can be backed up in system restore files and can return and bite you on the a$$...it also free's space, I got back 4 gb once from disabling & restarting + enabling. Keep it on at all times, especially if your little bro mess's everythign up! lol
