system restore

    ive been messing about with startup services[i know stupid or what]and when i try to system restore my settings it wont go back further than today anybody got any ideas on what to do?

    sounds like you disabled your system restore and re-enabled it, and deleted any previous save points, i dont know how to fix that

    also the microsoft help dosnt work i went into services and it says its stopped,idont know how to enable it again ive checked the box but nothing happens !!!!

    did you go through and set them all to automatic startup? doing it all manually or are you using some software to manag it.

    if you are doing it manually did you go to:
    control panel -> administrative tools -> services -> [bold]double click on the desired service[/bold] -> set the startup type to automatic, and click 'start service'

    i done whatever i done through typing in msconfig in run box
    ill try to change it using your suggestion but im on a different computer just now so ill get back to let you know how i got on later

    cheers when i looked in there i found certain programs were disabled the microsoft help and others some i dont know what they are so i havnt started them up thanks for the help
    also toolbar has changed colour from blue to cream any idea how to reverse this?

    turned everything on to automatic everything now seems to be ok
