    Ok here's my problem...
I have WinDVR and I use it to capture and record TV programs. They are saved as "MPEG VIDEO FILES" They are always huge, and I want to encode them to Divx to shrink them. Now- I used to be able to do this on my old installation with T-MPEG ENCODE, but I reinstalled and tried opening my MPEG files with TMPEG, and now it says "UNSUPPORTED FORMAT" and WILL NOT open my files at all. Is this a CODEC problem? I have installed every codec I can think of... but no luck-
    ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED!!!

You want to re-encode into DivX? You need to be using VirtualDub, not TMpegEnc. TmpegEnc is only for encoding MPEG-1 and MPEG-2; VirtualDub (free program!) will open your MPEG files (as long as you have the right codec to view them) and re-encode them into any codec you want, including DivX.
