ive just got a new tv with freeview built into it but i cant recieve the signal because my indoor tv aerial is not stong enough so i bought a signal booster but still not luck so is there anything else i can do to try and improve the signal apart from putting a aerial on the roof.
will wrapping the aerial in sum sort of metal paper?

No. Have you tried an amplified antenna?

Do you have to plug it in to a wall power outlet? If so then yes.

Yes. Although some amplified antennas are stronger than others. Also some antennas can be placed in attics too.

U could always buy a tv antenna tower...looks like a small radio tower and has an antenna on the top...you can freestand it away from the house just based in cement or strap it to the side of the house. Look here http://www.tvantenna.com/support/tutorials/towers.html
