Okay... I'm having a major issue right now with my discs. I used to use TDK dvd-r to burn to using imgburn. I take an avi, encode it using dvdflick, and then burn the iso to dvd with imgburn. I was getting a few that skipped so i took advice and switched to taiyo yuden discs. All was going fine and then i stopped for a few weeks. i got back to burning now and the majority of my discs are skipping BIG time. They are usually skipping about an hour in, and then skipping heavily during the last half hour is of a movie. I've played the discs on different players, so it isn't the player. I've burned different files and it is the same thing. my burner is only a few months old too. Could it be a bad spindle of discs? Is my burner shot already? is my computer having issues that might be interfering? Please help! oh... and the files play fine on the computer using deamon.
you know, ive been following these discussions for a long time now and i have this to say.my old lg burner would burn any pos that i threw at it.the dvds and cds would play just fine.not too long ago i noticed it was getting picky.good reason too as it bit the dust soon after.not trying to start a debate here but in my opinion too much emphasis is on the media not the burner.rant over.lol.
attar: how do i check the firmware? I got the disks from www.supermediastore.com (am I allowed to give the website?) so they seem reputable. How do i find out if they are fakes? aldan: i'm really hoping it's not the burner because the computer is only a few months old.
In ImgBurn > Tools > Drive > Check for firmware updates I assume they are OK from that source. You can verify the manufacturers ID code in ImgBurn by inserting a blank and selecting the 'Device' tab.
Try resetting the burn speed back to 4x. Then post a log at the ImgBurn Forum. Tools > Help > Logs http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?s=014cadbee2e1bad79b5690c22e455bda&showforum=6
