takes a long time to open a file in Corel Draw 12

How come Corel draw 12 takes a long time (4 - 5 mins at least) to open a file or copy & paste a graph. But it works fine with Corel draw 11. Please kindly help.

 

i'm not familiar with the program, but this is common for many types of updates--it just seems buggy. the first thing to do is completely reinstall the program. if that doesn't fix it and you've done the typical computer maintenance, and you simply can't stand it, the next best thing to do is roll back to the previous version.

 

i have corel draw 11,did not upgrade to 12..

no problem with 11,thanks for the info..i will hold back on the 12 .

also 12 might be a bad download..re-download 12 again,
and reinstall...

I did uninstall and reinstall again and again, and I did try with many computers with differnt hardware config. It is still the same.
I have download the trial ver. of Corel 13, there is no different with 12. any suggestion? thanks a lot.

 

if v. 12 and 13 aren't working, it would seem you have to go back to 11.

 

My company has already bought 5 packs of Corel 12. My boss asks IT staffs (me and two others) to find out what's wrong with it. It is hard to tell her that we can not find any solution, or down grade to 11. anyway, thanks for your reply.

 

ouch. that's the problem with many companies--they dive right in and waste money in the end. i can't wait to see how many businesses do the same with Windows Vista. good luck with your boss.

 

I found that it takes very long time with all verions of Corel draw (9, 10, 11), not only 12 or X3. I have tried to open my friend's files(5 MB size), it took within 10 sec. And My friend also tried to open my files(3 MB size), it took a long time(10 mins) to open. So that I doubt there is something wrong with my files. My friend told me don't use too much effect for those objects, it would be taken very long time to handle with it. Then I have created a object with a single effect for testing, but it's still the same(long long time). (Yes, I did virus checking)
My questions are does the program takes time to handle a object that contains more effect? what about if I create a single object with simple effect, does it still take long time to run? Does anyone know what effect may make the files to be more complex and take time to handle? Thank you so much for your help.
