favorites in internet explorer, or on xp?
can you tell me how much RAM you have? (right click on my computer properties)
you said you upgraded your computer to xp professional? when you upgrade an older to computer to a recent operating system sometimes they dont perform as well, mostly because the new operating system has newer standards (More RAM, faster processor exct)

if you want try running a disk clean up with ccleaner,

you can also go tools>startup there you can delete those pesky programs that start up at boot, they cause your browsing in XP to be slow

If the favourites are in Internet Explorer, your better of with Firefox and bookmarks.

Yes I know not helpful to suggest this, rather I should try and help him sort out his problem with favs. however I learnt long ago to just forget about IE and its stupid shenanigans (< I did not even know how to spell that word, Firefox corrected it for me ^^).

burninmad, I do not know what the issue is with the DLL thing, but if you want to sort it out, open up a new thread, give it a meaningful title (trust me there is a LOT to the title) and then explain your DLL problem in as MUCH detail as you can!

    Yours sincerely,
    BluRay

ps. I am sure there is someone on AD who knows the answer, and willing to help

well for starters have your tried to run Firefox in safemode?
    http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_Mode_(Firefox)

it sounds like the setup might may have been corrupted, uninstall it and reinstall with the latest version

    IE may be conflicting,
    http://www.ehow.com/how_2033267_set-internet-explorer.html
FOLLOW THIS TUT BUT INSTEAD OF SETTING IT AS THE DEFAULT BROWSER UNSELECT IT, MAKING IT NOT YOUR DEFAULT BROWSER

if you still get the dll error i suggest downloading IE (the setup file), once you have the setup file for IE somewhere safe uninstall it, you want to save the setup file so that encase we can't get firefox running you'll still have access to internet

as BluRay said there is so much more we can still do, i've barely even touched the basics and am confident we can solve this issue your having!!
