I hope someone can help me with this. I've been scouring the web for a couple of days with no luck. I'm trying to use the "save image" function with the live mode on Media Player Classic. Every time I click on save however I get one of two error messages. I either get GetCurrentImage failed, hr = 8000ffff or I get a similar message, GetCurrentImage failed, hr = 80004005. Can anyone help me?
Are you trying to record streaming Video on your Media Player??? What I use for recording Streaming Windows media over the web is a program called "Windows Media Recorder" or "WMR" it is a Simple program to use and will record the streaming files at a faster rate than you can watch them so it saves time, It is freeware so you should be able to find it on the net but if you cant find it I can email it to you if you PM me with your address...Cheers
Thanks for your reply but I'm afraid you've misunderstood. The Media player I use is called media player classic. It's a souped up version of the old windows media player 6.4. I've seen it mentioned on this forum a couple of times. You can open devices with this program (such as a camera and a microphone) and record video this way. Well there is also a "save image" feature so you can take a picture. But everytime I try to save an image I either get GetCurrentImage failed, hr = 8000ffff or I get GetCurrentImage failed, hr = 80004005. I'm thinking it's something to do with Codecs? But I'm not sure.
I had the same problem. It does seem to be an issue with the codec. With only xvid installed, i got the 8000ffff thing. After I took xvid off and installed divx, it worked.
I have the same problem with Media Player Classic/QuickTime Alternative. I don't have xvid or divx installed on my machine. I googled divx to see about downloading the codec, but the stupid thing appears to have adware with it, and I don't really want that. Am I missing something? One of the main reasons I got Media Player Classic was that it has all of the functionality of QuickTime Pro for free. I'd very much like to be able to save video frames as .jpg images, but just keep getting this same error. Can anyone give me a more thorough explanation of how to possibly make this work? Thanks.
