I have a question...I need to buy a transformer that can convert 220 V to 110..but the problem is whenever i get on a website to get info they say i also need the Amps or watts of the control unit..which i don't know...i have a tattoo machine control unit which needs to be converted...I'm just wondering how much power does a tattoo machine have..i don't want to but a transformer with not enough power...how much amps or watts can the unit have comparable to other household units..blow dryer, curling iron?

just that there should be numbers on the motor indicating watts, amps & voltage. did you try the manufacturer website if there is 1??

you have to open it up to get your #'s

Step up-down heavy duty transformers convert AC electricity either way from 220 volt to 110 volt (step down) or 110 volt to 220 volt (step-up)

If no watts are shown and only amps are shown, multiply the volts (input AC) by the amps to find the watts. For example,
    Volts(AC input) x Amps(amperage) = Watts (Wattage)
    110V x 0.5A = 55W

Note: voltage converters or transformers do not change cycles (50Hz or 60Hz)

you may also have to get a international plug adapter

don't know what your try to ink maybe an elephant w/220volts
most run on 3.5 to 18 volts. maybe just buy a new power supply anywhere from $40 to $199 just have to watch clip cord ends i think you can them at your local r shack

Actually there's nothing on the control unit but under the foot pedal it has these numbers:
    2410.0301 u
6(2,5)/250 ~ and then theres a line with three lines horizontaly

if the 250 is volts than the 6 is amps so half the volts & double the amps to get 115v x 12a = 1380watts. what the 2,5 stands for i don't know
