TDK 1280b Firmware Related

i have a TDK 1280b (dvd burner)
at first : it was firmware t7s1 (stock) and it was burning all the blanks with no probs

i flashed it to t7s4

now : it gives me the message "illegal disc"

i looked around and gave the matter a google answer is "the drive rejects some incompatible DVD Media what i need to know now is what other firmwares are compatible with this drive

 

Have you tried different media, yes?

 

no ,and i don't want to

but now i'm stuck with those

 

That drive is a rebadged lite-on although I'm not sure which model. Possibly a SOHW-1633S or SOHW-1653S. I would research it some more and then crossflash it with some patched lite-on firmware. Someone from here http://club.cdfreaks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=44 can most likely tell you which model litey it is. i flashed it to a 1213X-TS08
and i didn't backup the original T7S1 or T7S2

but on some forums they tested it using the ts08 firmware and it was doing average which means its compatible with 1213 lite-on(s)
prehaps with 1653S or 1633S as well i need some info on that as i have given up my hopes of finding the old firmware
