I have a tdk 880n dvd burner and all of a sudden I can't burn anything nor does it recognize any movies. It recognizes all other cd's like aplications, just not dvd movies.I flashed the drive but still nothing. It happened once before but I don't know how I fixed it. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Try this: Go to the Device Manager, right click on your TDK drive, and click on "Uninstall". After it uninstalls, reboot, let Windows detect new hardware and install a new driver for you. This doesn't [bold]always[/bold] work, but does a lot of times. Good luck!
it could also be the software that you are trying view the DVD! If you used different software to view the DVD sometimes it sets the media files differently than before! So when you go back to your usual video program for viewing then you have to reset the media files to view the DVD! So it just might be the program that you have to go into the tools section and recheck all the media files that will allow the software to play the media!
thanks, I will try that. I am using any dvd and I copy dvds, I just purchased nero 7 and installed it. Was wondering if that may have something to do ith it? But I will try your advice. BY the way, I open "my computer" look at the drive with a movie and it shows nothing but it reads other install cd's. Anyway thanks again will let you know if this works.
