ok thanks anyways. if you do want to know how to tell the manufacturer, there is a program called dvdinfopro, just download it, pop in the dvd, and go to media id on the top panel. That will tell you the media id/manu. If you want to know the good/bad manufacturers try this site: http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm http://www.dvdinfopro.com/---download program thanks
I'm using a Lite-On SOHW-1213s burner and have burned through 200 Mitsui(MAM-A) disc with 2 coasters, 500+ TY's with 8 coasters(but these were due to a dirty lens/file fragmentation), and about 75 TDK(TTG01) with 10 coasters. It may be my combination of burner/media/player(thought I doubt it), but only the TDK's seem to give me problems. None of the TDK's will copy, though most can be played(although there are numerous data errors/skips during movie playback). The Mitsui's and TY's don't give me any problems, thus I gave up long ago on TDK's. The TDK DVD-R and DVD+R's were purchased at Costco and all are labeled as made in Taiwan. I personally feel it is a waste of time to burn with anything less than the best, which are the TY's. Prices on DVD-R blanks keep dropping everywhere so even with the jacked up shipping rates, it is still a deal.
ok, i got the sony's from best buy, last spindle. they work on my dvd players and my ps2. the last backup i was playing the game played fine the first time and now it just freezes when i play it when i get to a certain point. is this a problem with the media?
Never mind, I fixed the problem. It was the media. I tried on Samsung discs and the games all work now. Isn't it ironic the Sony's [bold]own[/bold] media doesn't work on [bold]their own[/bold] Sony Playstation 2?
