Hi I've just purchased a Toshiba SD-63HK 5.1 System where the amplifier is integrated with the DVD player. Watched a movie on it last night (Bourne Supremacy) and it was excellent. The one problem I have with it is that the only available outputs from my Telewest Set Top Box (it's a PACE box) are the standard red and white stereo audio outputs. When I connect these to my new 5.1 system I'm only getting sound from the front speakers. The centre and rear speakers are not working. Does anyone have any ideas how to get 5.1 from my Telewest service ? Or is it just not possible? Cheers Pat ___
Not possible to get 5.1 from the red and white inputs. You should be able to get pro logic though. You may have to turn on the pro logic setting. Check the manual. To get 5.1 you'll need to get another box from Telewest, with digital output. Then, you'll still need to have premium channels (HBO, Starz, Showtime, etc., and a few PPV channels) to get 5.1 from it. Most tv programs will be in pro logic, which isn't bad. It just isn't as good as 5.1 surround. Good luck!
thanks for that. telewest only do one box with a optical output - the TV drive and its an extra £15 per month plus £50 installation. No thanks!!! thanks for your advice anyway. path29
