    Hey there,
Like to thank you all over helping me get zie box goin, found some good stuff from some posters. But I have a quick query, I notice two trains of processes on how to get boxes back on the trot.

First one being about all this RS 232 cables and firmware malarkay
The second about codes you enter into the respective box.

Now, excuse me for my ignorance, but whats the difference? I used a code and happy days I wont be missin the Titans Steeler game tomo.

Is there any specfic critera about choosing which method to go with? Is one way better than the other? Or do some boxes need the firmware rather than the codes?

I realise that some of you may be sniggering at such a blind question, but really havent got a clue compared to some of you fellas.

Any input on my query would be much appreciated,

    Peace out.

If you update your software, you won't need to enter codes.

but if you just enter codes, and they change you will need to get the new codes (over and over again)

So update the firmware on the box!

The firmware will enable your box to autoroll whenever the cc changes codes.

If you don't upgrade your firmware you will be chasing codes every time there is a roll.

An rs232 is not the correct cable, you need an rs232 Null Modem cable, be careful there, a lot of people have been caught out.

Lol, beat me too it! ;)

    Cheers lads,
looks like I got the wrong damn cable so, **cringe** 20 bills **flush**.

So how many times do these code "roll" on average.

I ve had my box for about two years and thursday was the only time its ever got knackered, so if I do the firmware update it will keep catching these "rolls", so to speak?
