just minutes ago with my modded xbox evox fully installed ok I turnd off the chip and went on live then a message apears on the screen saying something like: in order to connect to Live I have to download something and automaticly the download was beginning I unplugged the ethernet cable when saw that so the download did'nt finish I dont want to messup my xbox Is there any risk downloading what microsoft wants you to download from Live? I guess it was the voice chat and new dashboard they released a month ago, but im not sure so is there any risk to messup what I just installed downloading this? thanx
The new download from Xbox pretty much deletes your original Xbox dash files and replaces them. The new files are supposedly to prevent the software hacks people use. To be safe you should back up your C drive to your PC and then do the update. Then check the C drive after the Update to make sure your EvolutionX dash files are still there. If not just replace them with your back up. Also after the update turn off the Auto Connect feature or your Xbox will auto connect to XBLive when you launch the original M$ dash. RustyDog
