The bannings start again - "Microsoft Starts New Ban Wave on LIVE Against Modified Firmwares"

i would think ms cant just read what someone says on a forum and ban them. i think they have to catch them in the act by the 1:1 checking that they are doing.

 

2bh... my gamertag would be one they would look at anyway regardless of this forum... i got banned last time... i beleve this is the second major wave. Test ur xbox live connection and when it fails check the error code in more details

 

i dont think it was COD4, as i played it before the release date, and im not banned.

 

trust me check the forum link on the xbox-scene.com cod4 is mentioned multiple times both me and a mate scaned are copys and sure enough it doesnt match the database i really suggest u have a read through that forum thread theres a wealth of info (and some crackpot theories(the dodgy download discs causing the pains is coming from the higher ups))

 

well i have the same downloaded cod4 that they are talking about, and wasnt banned. maybe i just got lucky again to miss this ban hammer, but oh well, ill take whatever luck i an get.

 

could you post the crc values please and if some one that has been baned could post their crc vlaues perhaps we will see a difference (maybe a dodgy burn method is also responsible clonecd instead of imgburn for example. Really would be nice to work out exactly how to detect the bad burns and prevent future bans

 

I believe that its the files people download. Im running the first version of ixtreme/ms28 and use sh-d163a. and have been playing all yesterday and today.
I also survived the last ban.

 

On the xbox-scene frontpage there is an update stating that the firware cannot be detected and that it is bad copies of games that have caused some people to be banned.

First off I couldn't find any source to confirm this? Or where they got it from?

Secondly, if I was to ONLY use backups i got from my own retail discs (ie. not ever download image files), does that mean, aslong as they pass stealth check, I use a kreon drive, and pass the xdvdmulleter, i WILL NOT get banned?

I have no intentions of using downloaded games so if this is the case that would be great.

 

thats the case yes on the discusion linked to the article on xbox scene it says it comes from the irc site (not sure if it was from c4av but its certainly from high up)

 

i have just found out if you have the scene release of COD4 USA then use Xdvdmulleter and run the crc autofix...
they not saying its a bad rip but this will fix any problems if there is one...

One of the most stupidest things you can do wright now, 1st turn your 360 on if your on a hacked f/w and 2nd test your connection, because, if you think about it, you could be sending some shit to m$ about your information on the drive, i'm not saying its wright but just think. And all of all, it can't be from ppl getting banned because they have made bad backups and inserted then into the 360 drive to test them to see if they worked, I have made over 15-20 bad backups and I have not been banned, the last time I was on was about 1 1/2 ago to see if I was banned stupid me.

 

Well you might not have been banned immediately but you could have just flagged yourself. And btw what the hell are you trying to prove by burning a bunch of bad backups(waste of money)

 

hey guys i just got a mail from a friend of mine telling me bout this ban thing...i been playins assassins creed all day and COD 4 yesterday...and i didnt got ban ...i got the new FW and my drive is an hItachi...(and im using Fujifilm dvd+r dl)...so now that i know imma take out my update...i was banned once

 

by the way how do we do good backups...ppl saying bad backups...what is a bad backup?is it the dvd?i also use verbatim but i run out of them...thats why i used them fujifilm

 

Replace Keyvault Unbans Xbox 360 *update*
>> Legueux of gx-mod.com informed us that Zouzzz managed to unban his Xbox 360 console from LIVE on their forums by swapping the keyvault of his banned Xbox360 with the keyvault of another (not banned) Xbox 360.
However it's not something that everyone out there can do (yet) as you'll need your CPU key (via Hypervisor Exploit and if you got banned it means you're on the latest kernel so you'll need to perform the 'Timing Attack' to downgrade first). You'll also need all the tools to read/flash your Xbox 360 NAND (with the Infectus chip for example).

Here are the things he tried:
* downgrade banned 5787 PAL to 4532 NTSC U, updated again to 5787 via HD. Still banned.
* downgrade banned 5787 PAL to 1888 PAL, updated again to 5787 via HD. Still banned.
* Patched his original 1888 PAL dump with the last number of the Xbox 360 serial in the keyvault (location A0 to AB) changed. Still banned.
* Patched his original 1888 PAL dump with the all the numbers of the Xbox 360 serial in the keyvault changed. Still banned.
* Replaced the full keyvault in his original 1888 PAL dump of the banned console with a keyvault of an unbanned console. Connected to LIVE OK, updated to latest kernel online OK, still connects fine to LIVE.

*update* Zouzzz posted a video showing his banned console and how it'll connect fine to LIVE again after he flashes the console with his 1888 dump with patched keyvault of an unbanned console.

It's a bit like the Xbox1 EEPROM 'hack' ... except that (at least for now) it's much harder to perform yourself on Xbox360.

Someone I know who was banned the 1st time around isn't banned right now. He has a Samsung drive 360 that was bought and flashed with ixtreme 1.0 about a week after that firmware came out. He's just been playing scene releases and the occasional original. I know he's before all over that COD4 early release as soon as it came out.

I'm not banned either, but I'm on a brand new 360 .
