my choice is Trend Mirco PC-cillin 2006 Internet Security and there spyware program Trend Mirco Anti-Spyware 3.0 ,used it for several years with NO PC problems in the least ,heres the link http://www.trendmicro.com/en/home/us/personal.htm
i personaly use avast and spydefense (sometimes i use spydefence) and i use spybot and otherwise i have not found any other suitable programs.
Webroot Spyware Sweeper for Spyware etc, or a-squared as a good 2nd choice, and definitely Avast for anti virus.
As I've got Broadband I've never noticed Phantom69, and as they update frequently too (sometimes 3-4 times a week) I can understand the problems it would cause for dial up users. I'll remember that next time someone asks about a good anti malware program. Thanks
Look at my sticky thread at the top of this forum to find great protection againt viruses and spyware. But if you realy want to go for it and for some reason need very very powerful protection i'd advise you to go for Webroot spysweeper & AVG pro, thats some top notch protection and you'll be happy with that but i still think AVG free and Microsoft anti spyware is good enough for anyone and will keep you more than safe combined with a few others. so its up to you, you can follow my guide and have qaulity protection for free or you can pay and get slighly better protection.
