    @ creaky
Thanks for reminding me on the optical drives. I will keep that in mind.

    @ Mrguss
What do you mean by re-formatting? What do I need to re-format?

    Thanks both in advance.

    Cheers.

    Re-format (Hard Disk Formatting):

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reformat

Is what you did when you when from XP to Vista. But this time will be from Vista to Vista!
You did that by yourself or maybe somebody did for you ?

'Cos since is the first time; the PC do not recognize Vista 'cos is new to it, and some times you can experience problems.
The second time you do it from scratch....it can catch on it, on more smooth way.
NOTE: Is like download a Program; But in this case.....is the Main OS that run your PC.

    Hope this help.

    Hi guys,
Sorry for my late reply but office life does sometimes not allow you to do what you want to do.

Any way, I have tried all of the above option and the best alternative working for me is DVDFab in combi with Nero Recode.

I like to thank all of you for the great support you have given.

    Good luck & take care.

shrink works fine with fista.. just needs to be run as a standalone app.. NOT installed.. I found it seems to hit some kind of access conflict with nero8 .. never tried 9 .. don't support fista.. or wincrap7 for that matter.. just get lumbered occasionally..

look for a "bare" shrink32 exe file and load it when you want to shrink something.. ONLY use for it these days.. or grab a cracked fab of course.. and ditch that nero garbage bloatware.. getting as bad as roxio for conflicts with other software.

dvdfab.. shrink standalone if needed.. and imgburn.. who needs anything else~??

I recently bought a laptop with Vista already installed. I hate Vista and I purchased
Windows 7 and installed it over Vista. I had to give up any option of ever going back to Vista (i don't care to). With that being said, I use DVDfab and it works like a charm.
So far anything has been ripped, even recent released DVDs.

I,too, found some programs always give the error the OP asked about. I know that Win7 likes to place older programs in the ix86 (i think it's the name) folder. In another forum on a different topic, I read that someone suggested in placing a program in a different folder and see if that will make the program work. What I mean, is not to install it to the Program folder or the ix86 folder. Create your own folder and see if the program will work.

I have had very good results using the combination of anydvd and clonedvd to copy dvd's
slysoft's clonedvd is very easy to use and adjustable for movie file size and removing
    unwanted extras such as adverts
