the best for under $1200

    I was wondering what mini-dv camcorders you would recomend for under usd $1200? My current cam is an older jvc gr-dv3 and i think its time to upgrade wouldnt you say?

    any advice appreciated.

    Recently I've got a JVC GR-DV 4000 for 950 €. I chose it mainly because of its good low light performance and I like it.

    Important features (IMO) that this one unfortunately doesn't have are progressive scan and optical image stabilization. Panasonic PV-DV852 does, the PV-DV953 too IIRC.

    For $1200 you might be able to get a 3 chip cam steal deal ...
