    Hi
Its not your hard drive, there have been many posts about this recording problem, You may need to load the latest F/W (Firm Ware) v4.506 Oct it is in the 'eko.4shared' link below, To find your present Software version press Menu/System Setup/System Information.
A tip about recording problems that I picked up and really works is to switch off the box, switch it back on and set up an EPG recording , then switch the box off straight away without doing anything else. Also worth trying without any splitters in the line (if any fitted) as they reduce signal strength especially to the second loop through tuner.

For Software etc goto the link below, look in the TheBox PVR Folder for F/W and Documentation Folder for How too's

    Hi
You can't be doing it right, I just tried and downloaded the 4.506 Oct file, no probs. Keep trying, When downloaded it will need unzipping with Winrar, Google for free Winrar D/L .

Must admit being having the same issue for months.Originally thought it was the hard drive as it was an old one from a pc and it had been giving me trouble. So changed it and has same issue. Its not the drive

Now the cable was going from main point into input 1 and was using supplied loopthrough cable into input 2. So changed it so cable from main point was split and fed line 1 into input1 and line 2 into input 2. I thought this resolved the issue but have had 2 cases for recordings yesterday freezing.
Am thinking now of removing the n*l box on wall which as tv and fm outputs and replacing it with splitter and running as above, line 1 into input 1 + line 2 into input 2 to see if this makes any difference

    Hi
If you have a good signal strength the only way round this is to use the tip I gave in an earlier post that works.

''A tip about time shift recording problems that I picked up and really works is to switch off the box, switch it back on and set up an EPG recording , then switch the box off straight away without doing anything else.'' Has something to do with the Hard drive start up/reset at switch on and off times.

    @ jbvideo

As mentioned above I have split cable and run cables into input 1 and input 2 on the box pvr, but when any channel is recording i get a black screen on the other channels on the same frequency.I can access channels on other freqs ok.
It looks like the return signal is been blocked, does this make sense?

    cheers

    Hi
Have you tried switching/changing round the two input cables and are you using a suitable splitter? (needs to be Konig 5-2400 Mhz or that range, mine is and works fine).
Do you still get the blank screen when using the short loop cable?

first off the splitter is only 5-1000MHz.

So switched cables around anyway, thought it had worked but it did not. Then went back to using the small loop cable and its working fine, channels on the same freq can be accessed at the same time.

The issue with this before though is that some recordings would freeze.Recorded 2 tonight at same time( different freqs),the 2nd show played ok apart from slight sound jumps and was about 50min long. Not had the chance to watch first recording but will test it tomorrow

I will also look at recording 2 channels on the same freq

    Whats the difference with splitters?

    cheers
