Help, I have a machine which does not recognise the remote and only operates from the local control on the receiver. The fault happend after I screwed up accessing "HDD Mode Change" in the Main Menu.I have connected my PC via USB lead with software disc ready, however when asked to input the 0-0-0-0 code the remote is not recognised by the receiver and the local control buttons do not have the facility to put this code in.
Presume you checked the batteries in the remote. If you have a mobile phone with camera, switch it to camera mode. Point the remote at the camera lens, and you should see the infra-red LED flashing on the screen. If you don't see it flashing, then yes, the remote is dead
Hi mtglass There is a 'make me dead' button on the PVR remote, don't ask me why but: Press Aux = Kills remote : Press STB = Brings back remote. Try it. Got me scratching mine did that one. jbvid
Nice info jbvid, by my God why would they do such a thing??? Bet there is a few people scratching their heads
Hi sc0user & jbvideo, Thank you both for your advice. "sc0user", Your camera / remote tip was exellent and proved the remote which just made me flap more. "jbvideo", your advice to use the STB button to bring the RCU back to life worked a treat. sc0user's right why would they do that, especially to a wally like me, I'm still strugling to record anything to the HDD. Could you suggest how to do this or advise anything I need to download to do so. Regards & thanks for taking the time, mtglass
