ok, probably asking a question thats been asked before but here goes: got a genuine the box super a few weeks ago, plugged it in, scanned for channels worked fine. couple of days ago all channels went missing, no signal etc. wont even scan one channel in now. got a null modem cable, hooked it up to my laptop and have tried to use the gtrom loader but whenever i do i get flash update fail. i tried a few of the ways of getting around this on the forums but no joy. im using the gtrom7.09 loader, no joy....is it a firmware file i dont have. which is the most up to date one to be using? im sure its something disasterously simple/stupid im not doing but can anyone help me out.
If you are using Vista on the laptop you might have issues , see if you can get someone with XP, it gennerally works on that, otherwise just keep trying, and it might click in!!
sorry for not replying....was away for work. i have xp on my laptop.....is it really a case of keep trying on of the versions "6.00, 6.01, 7.05, 7.09BETA and 8.00 " etc and hope for the best? or hope they click in as you said!
i just got a new starview 3 the box super and i am unable to fash it i have tried all the softwear available in eamos libary with no joy can anyone help

yea i have been trying to do that for the past few days to no avail i have two starview 1 boxes but i have never had this problem
if the original box you have is a super as well you can do a software transfer,connect the 2 boxes with your null modem,turn the box you want the new firmware on away from the remote,press menu user set up s/w transfer.
managed to run the 7.09 and the 8.00 in the end. the box boots, then ld80 comes up on the screen. I do all the usual, language-english, select n*l as the provider and do a scan. it scans 28 in all and 0 channels found at the end. Not sure what the story is, before it would scan 178 not 28. Ive tried it with emu on and off but nothing. Is it anything else other than the software? anything im missing here?
try this courtesy of noelyf Menu > factory setting pin > 0000 ok to Delete Turn off the b0x at the back for a min & turn back on Disconnect from TV, put it in standby & flash it with the 7.09 beta Connect to TV Choose english > installation, select provider autoscan > press ok channels found Exit Menu > 1570 Turn emu on, Exit Exit Exit
tried doing that. still no channels found unfortunately. Ive tried all the different version at this stages, none of which give me any channels whatsoever. the box arrived with version 8 on it. tried loading that one first and so on...... is there anything im still missing out on here. I was reading on a previous post something about faulty tuners on the box super...is that a common thing?
