Hi all,I am just wondering if anyone can help with a problem,a friend has flashed a sv3 clone box (7x20 vents)with genuine firmware, now it is frozen on welcome screen, have tried re-flashing with version 8.00e,including "force flashing" box takes the file and d/l is complete, but when it reboots it is still stuck at welcome screen?
    any help would be great.
    Thanks in advance

and they are all relatively easy to spot, wrong amount of vents, scart on wrong side, etc? or is it just an experience thing if you know what to look for?
    thanks again,

SV1 clones are easy enough as you have seen many posts and info relating to them. The others are harder as the cloners obviously perfected their production methods on later models. But differences are still there but harder to spot.

Thanks for replies people,i think the sv3 i was trying to fix is now a brick or at best a bookcase end - i guess the genuine firmware messed it up for good - to Wheelo, thanks for the links you posted,i will try them, FYI the sv3 has 7 vents with 20 slots as opposed to 7 x 25 slots, also the underneath of the box has different venting holes (genuine has holes in a square type configuration while the clone has them in circular patterns)hope this helps to warn people,

Yes Scouser,it definitely is a clone...even the box it is packaged in is different quality, and the remote has much brighter coloured buttons (red, blue and especially yellow)and is noticably lighter in your hand, hope this helps
