The box super clone question

I have two box supers at home and I just recently noticed that one of them has an s-video port and the other doesn't. At first glance neither of them seems to be a clone (based on number of vents, position of scarts ports at rear etc.)
The one without the s-video port I got quite a while back and the one with the s-video port I only got a few weeks ago.
I'm concerned that one of them may be a clone, can anyone shed any light on this for me?

Hard to tell as there where even two different batch types of the genuine models. Look down through the grill slots you will see the CPU, have a look at the top of it. Have the lines on the heatsink a straight or spikey appearance?

There are still some genuine boxes around but very few as they have been discontinued in favour of the SV4.

 

just checked and the heatsink on both of them is the straight type.

 

Seem genuine to me based on the heatsink, where did you purchase them from? Either way there is no clone killing firmware for the SV3.

 

Thats a relief, cheers sc0user. Can't remember where I got them because i have dealt with so many suppliers but it was probably wizardsat, satbox4u or cablebox4u.

 

Wizard are the main distys so you will get genuine articles from them, sorry I do not have any info on the other two. Either way you should be fine
