Hi guy's, I having a problem getting a Starview 3 up and running so all help welcome Basically I got a brand new The Box Super for a mate of mine today and it came with software 8.00e pre installed on it, so first I went into 1570 and turned key emu on, I did an automatic scan and it found all channels, 178 or so. I then exit to sly sports and it said channed updating but it stayed stuck on 0%. As I'm living in Ireland I re-flashed the box with GTRom_Super_709eBETA and done the usual, turned the key emu on ect.. but once again it's stuck at 0% and just won't update for me. I tried a few factory resets and turning the key emu off and pressing the default key and then turning the key emu back on but still stuck on 0% updating. Any suggestions on this guy's ? I have other boxes in the house and they are working fine, I'm in Dublin 24 and on N** Cheers guy's
Mods this can be locked if you see fit as I've got it sorted. For future ref this is how I got is sorted after trying many different ways lol. Flashed it, went into the 1570 and hit the default key and switched off the box. I then turned the box on and scanned with the key emu turned off, it found all the channels. I re-booted the box, it said "bad or scrambled channel", I then went into the 1570 menu and turned key emu on and re-booted the box. Turned the box back onto a scrambled channel and it started to update. Havn't a clue why this happened as I've updated a few boxes for myself and mates and first time this has happened to me. Anyway sorted
Sandisk... believe it or not this is quite a Common fix LOl the old Turn Off/On works wonders sometimes... Dont ask me why LOL
Ehh, like I spent nearly an hour tryin different ways and turning on/off multiple times in the process and it didn't work, fact. So if I re-flashed the box like I posted, the box was turned on/off, right ? I hate stupid comments DesB, then again it's a good way for some to build up their post count :/
Hi, I am having the same problem with my starview 3. I have tried what Sandisk has advised above but with no joy. Any other ideas ? Thanks
are u running coaxial on main feed no splitters as if u have it running thru splitter u will lose strength, try hanging to another channel wait 10 secs to see if it moves,or set default key and exit,or power off box at back usually updates.
sandisk if you had bothered to follow the guide for scanning on starview's, you would have seen that you alway's scan first and then turn the emu on,have this locked?all the info on this is in celtic71's sticky, and finally please don't come in here with your useless information and insult a valuable member who day in and day out is here to help all and sundry.
Sandisk, firstly your fix didnt work for the poster above so perhaps you were just lucky!!! As sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt,Also How can you scan when the EMU is ON as you should know that when scanning the EMU automatically turns itself off, then its up to you to turn it on as you did when you got the "bad or scrambled message"!! if you look around other peoples problems on this site you will occasionally see the advice given, "Turn OFF for a few minutes and Turn back ON it should click in" and for some strange reason the box would turn on and start updating, I dont and never did claim to know the answers to everyone,s questions, but will have a bash at assisting when i can, and as for your comment on building up my post count ,will you get a life!!! who,s counting ..not me ..are you??
This post is totally out of order sandisk, I did not see anything stupid what-so-ever in DesB/s reply, it was meant to be informative and not in any way critical, if you took time out and had a look you would have seen that your problem was a recurring one and we do have a thread dedicated to updating the Starviews. As you have found out sometimes it is just a matter of pressing the default key other times it needs a kickstart through a reboot, it is just one of those things - so no need to insult a member that sometimes spends 6-7-Hrs helping others out, and I hate insulting comments like yours.
sandisk Thought I would add to my post count mate would be a good idea in future to be careful about how you word your posts, Desb was as posted just trying to be helpful and there was absolutely no need for your comment, FACT , I’m not going to go on but when you see someone like yourself insulting another very helpful member such as Des, I and as you can see others find it very hard to bite their tongue.
karljd I actually many different ways as I said, and when I did a factory reset, went to 1570 and turned emu on and scanned it didn't actually turn the emu back on, anyway at this stage that is neither here nor there. Didn't mean to upset you boy's, over the amount of time I've been here at AD I've been helped by many a decent folk and help many others out. This section is not one of my haunts but I like to think I can go to any section here on AD and get some good suggestions, but I have to say after been *bleep* about with a box for nearly an hour and have some comment like "Sandisk... believe it or not this is quite a Common fix LOl the old Turn Off/On works wonders sometimes... Dont ask me why LOL" Now come on, what kind of a helpful comment is that ? karljd, what do you mean "don't come in here with your useless info", this is a public forum you *bleep* and the fix worked for me so I posted for future ref just incase it might help someone out in the future. Don't worry, for future help on types of boxes I'll stick to a diff forum. malci, I hear what your saying and I appreciate your post but I actually found his post offensive. Your reply would have been 100 times more beneficial than the "on/off" post by des. Anyway, cheers to the guy's that gave me a dig out in the past, it was/is greatly appreciated
