Sorry for jumping in MICKAH,llchalky you will need a subscription to few channels if your not paying for a basic subscription then you wont recieve a feed from your cable co.
Hi, another newbie looking for abit of help here thats not too well up on all this. I bought the Box Super(starview 3 box) a couple of weeks back. When i scanned all the channels with the original softwear on(7.05 i think) it scanned them all in but the pay channels were scrammbled. I've since had the 7.09 version on it and it was exactly the same. In a last hope today i've put the version 6.01 on because i read thats what older boxes needed on but it's not scanning any channels in now and all the ones on originally that were working(the free ones) now aren't. I've read on this thread that you need to have at least a basic tv package with virgin which i don't think we do. We have the phone and broadband with virgin and they actually sent us the tv box free of charge(it's just like a freeview box in terms of what channels you get). Is that the problem? Any help would be welcome. Cheers
It would have had FTA firmware on only when you got it 7.8 - when you flashed with the 7.09, did you turn on the Key Emu ON when you had scanned.? You need to go to Menu down to System Information and press OK and if the firmware is installed it will end with e_E. Have a look and post what it says, and we can go from there, and yes you are alright with the setup you have, cable broadband TV and phone, having a working subbed box alone is a basic package, so that is not your problem.
