Here is the problem ever since i bought the starview 3 box it reboots every 2-10 minutes the picture freezes or sometimes half goes green and the other half purple and at the bottom of the receiver where the channel number is only one number is there or sometimes just a light i had the firmware on 7.05e but then it was suggested i should update to 8.04e so i did yet the problem continued. Any suggestions ? Also the tv i use is an Sanyo and i the power cable of the starview 3 is plugged into an extension socket powered by an old fashioned socket.

did you change that dam plug yet????,also get a decent extension that might carry the load with surge protection.

2 pin plugs at times are not good and may make the box reboot,so you first change to a 3 pin plug with a 3amp fuse.try that out first if that does not work it may be internal caps problems.

you have changed the plug yes,is it plugged into a wall socket,is the box well ventilated ?,and you have the latest firmware 8.04,possible caps inside box a problem leaking or dome shaped.or maybe 8.02 as there are 2 different boxes i am told.

I will try the 8.02 version as 8.04 does nothing for me. Thanks for your response.

I'd say its the caps, seen it in many a SV2, not too many 3's though.

Went round his house plugged in the satellite continued doing the same thing on 8.04e firmware. So i updated the firmware to 8.02 like suggested still rebooting so i reverted back to 6.00e still no change in the rebooting problem. The only firmware i haven't tried is 7.09.
