Hi chaps. Got the box super USB running at the end of high quality 5m coax. However, every few mins the pic will turn black/white for a split second , sound will drop out and return. Ive tried it with a 1m lead next to the V::G*& box and it is very stable, no problems. Ive also tried a signal booster but that just gives much interference on pic. Any ideas plse? Scouser m- if u read this I started with the prob last weekend and you offered me advice.
DesB - ta for replying. How do you think that would make any difference? All channels are there no probs
Normally this fixes most problems.. however I had a quick google search (that you could have done) and found this!! Try This Courtesy of Fergus >>>>>>> When its black and white press the tele text button on your tv remote not on the Starview remote when the tele text comes up just go back off wait about three sec and the colour should come back.if that doesn't work try changing your scart lead. Make sure you're set to TV Type PAL in user settings. Also remember the TV out scart on the Starview is the only one that supports RGB the other one is only Composite video. If you have a second scart on the tv try that one in case its the telly scart. Try it and see.....
DesB - if the cable is touching other cables (FM aerial cable) or is bending at angles on its pathe to the splitter, could this have an effect in your opinion?
Had it running for 3 days on the old 28in widescreen set up next to the V Box. Absolutely spot on and stable for 3 days. Thats whats so frustrating. What PAL setting should I use mate?
Try playing around with the settings on your TV( Pal) I have just noticed that on other posts you started that both sc0user and Micka (Both Brilliant) couldnt help you out, so I am at a loss also, perhaps someone else might give you a dig out sorry!!! EDITED>>>> I have just asked one of the Addicts to help you!!!
What is your signal strength if it is to high this will cause this also to low as well Check you are using good strong quality cable not cheap crap also try changing it from rgb to cvbs also make sure you have the scart in the AV1 slot or EXT 1 slot
yep signal strenght should be around the 70% mark to get a good signal have you put the v1.02 on your box also if you scanned your box before you flashed it try another scan on it that could cure it if the cable is to long and not good quality it will pick up all types of noise in the cable which will effect the quality as well
yep ive got v1.02 on the box. when i put the cable through a signal booster it caused massive interference on the screen and that only boosted it to 60
is it a cheap one you got try one like this konic boster that especially made for the feeds ya get on flebay
Also another thing to check that you do not have an attenuator on your cable if you do take it off and see will that fix the prob first
By the way - this morning the signal level is 59% and its still doing it -picture and sound drop out for split second 2 or 3 times in rapid succession - every few minutes.
