Ok so received my BOXPVR yesterday and just set it up, so scanned for the channels, all is coming up but I need to find out some details of problems that I've got.

Firstly) How do I unscramble the scrambled channels?

Secondly) From what I can see so far Channel 4 is the only channel which comes out clear (with sound) whilst BBC 1 is coming out with distorted sound and the picture is lagging behind so even the picture is coming out with not the entire screen changing to the next frame but some parts changing before others so there is some sort of time delay (distorted sound too).

So any ideas on both of these problems?

    Thanks In Advance!

Go to parental control in receiver menu

    press ( i or info button) + (2007)

key and emu buttons should now be visible
switch key emu to on position
go to scrambled channel and wait for update

Is ALL your channels like that , if so do a factory setting , turn the b0x of at the back for a min , turn back on and start fresh and turn your emu key on

All my channels are like that yes and even after putting on the factory settings and doing it all over agian it still comes out like that.

I now also have another problem and am not sure if the 2 might be connected, when I got it I have an update BoxPVR_E_v4500_06Jul.bin which has not been installed yet cuz Im waiting on the wiring to come through. Could the problem be connected in some way?

Thanks Celtic, at least you helped me out this far but now I gotta sort out this software thing since my computer is a new version so all its got is usb ports everywhere so now gotta look for an extension or get a new Usb to Serial 9-Pin Male Adaptor so that it can reach from my computer to the box :-(

Why? Whats the trouble when your updating the PVR?

I've tried but it won't happen as my usb cable software is not compatible with Vista so I cannot update it :-(

    Hi
Can you take the box pvr round to a mate with winxp on then usb the new file over to your pvr's hard disc, or borrow a laptop with winxp and usb the file over. The BoxPVR_E_v4500_06Jul.bin you mention works ok on my pvr so it is a must to try it. If you have a splitter in your cable line it is also worth taking it out just to try it in case you are weakening the signal.

How do I set the Hard drive to Master?

    Hi
You need to remove the hard drive from inside the box, (if already fitted) look on the casing and it usually shows you a picture of the pin/jumper positions between Master, Slave & C/S Cable select, and the jumper pins are on the drive next to the 40 pin ribbon connector. If no picture or drawing on the H/D look for the make/model and google for it to find jumper positions.

ok, I do not know the technical speak so I will say it the best way I can.

The wire that connects from the HDD and the box, I thought that it may have been put in the wrong way round but it is fine.

Still doesn't work was referring to, my original problem of the time delay screen, some parts of the screen come out and the others seem to lag behind and this is my main problem with this box.

I uploaded the new software into the BOX PVR and since I thought that the problem may lie with not having the updated software, but now I have the updated software in the box, it is still having the same time delay problem.

I have switched the emu on and all the channels now are through but as I said my main problem seems to be the time delay factor of the picture, Im not sure if the wire might be put in wrong but it all seems to be right and I have re-checked the book.
