I have a miniDVD-R that was used on a Sony Handycam to make film project for school. After recording we need to edit the film, but when I add the VOB files to the converter(and editor) to convert them to .mp4 (Womble - MPEG Video Wizard DVD) some of the parts of the film aren't showing up. The converter will recognize the .VOB files, but won't touch the other files on the disc. The files on the disc are .VOB, .BUP and .IFO. Can someone tell me why I don't get the complete film and if there is a better program (free) to use to convert the VOB files to another format (preferably mp4).

    Thank for your help,

    Parker

Whenever I have a playable DVD that I want to work on I run it through DVDShrink and under Preferences tell it not to split files, then Save uncompressed. The ensuing large VOB usually works better for me.
