The F connection for Duo2 SE

    I just wondering if the F connection is needed for the installation of a duo2 SE on a v9/10 console or is it just required to play dvd+-rw disks. If it is needed is there a play where the connection can be made on the front side of the motherboard because that is where i plan to solder everything else. Thank you.
