It's Official! I got a flawless backup of The Fog!
Thanks alkohol for all your efforts. After I completed The Fog, I used the same instructions for Stealth and again got a flawless Backup.
You and your instructions are the best!

    Thanks,

You're all welcome, glad I could help. Now enjoy your backup to the fullest.

Yes.... my method (this method) IS 100% GUARANTEE to work with any new release, regardless if it's RiGuard or ARccOS. Basically, all you need to do is rip the movie (VIDEO_TS file) into the hard drive first, then use VobBLanker 2.1.0.0 to PROCESS afterward, and it's a piece of cake. If for any future movies, you guys don't want to BLANK anything, then once you've set your "input source" and "output folder", simply click PROCESS and you should be fine.

Remember, no AnyDVD, no DVD43, no glitches, no hustle, all tools are FREE.

Best of lucks and happy burning!!!

You are the first person I have heard of who was not affected by Sony's Protection. You sure thats all you had to do?
And yes, I agree, The movie was a bit of a dud. Not what I was expecting it to be. lol

    Cheers,

@exxitar Tx for your post. I backed up FOG using 3.0 Beta 5. I was sure I was going to get fragged. See my post a few up the line.

Maybe it has something to do with the region code or the country of origin of the disc (where it was pressed). I'm in the USA.

I did something similar but instead of creating 2 different 7.3 gig files on the hard drive I just created the output folder on the hard drive and used Vobblanker to straight from the DVD to the folder I created in the hard drive. Then you simply create another folder and then use DVDshrink to shrink it from the 7.3 gig folder into a new folder that is 4.3 gigs. Then you can burn from that one and essentially delete the 7.3 gig one.

    Alkohol,

I followed this exact guide for the movie FLIGHT PLAN to attempt to make successful back up as I was having the same issues that people were having with The Fog. Unable to rip with DVD SHrink 3.2. Getting errors...

So I used DVD Fab Decrypter (the version listed) to rip the movie to my HD. Total size came out to 7+ GBs. Then I processed the ripped VIDEO_TS files using VOB Blanker (same version you have listed), using the automated process, which crated another big ass file on my HD. Then I encoded the data taht was processed by VOB Blanker to create a burnable image using DVD Shrink successfully. Then finally I burnt a copy of the movie using ImageBurn.

The backup movies play fine, EXCEPT FOR ONE PROBLEM....

There are small portions of the movie that are missing or have been cut out throughout the duration of the movie. The movie is suppose to have a running time of 98 min ... The image that I Burned was about 72 minutes by the time it hit the credits. I am not sure what the problem is. But it is almost as if Vob Blanker cut out actual parts of the movie. One thing that I recall is the size of the file that I ripped using FAB Decyspter was about 7.5 GB....and after is used VOB Blanker the new size of the output was 6.3...or higher. Did not strike me as a problem as I was under the impression VOB Blanker is suppose to remove some different crap.

What the heck happened?? SHould I Not have used the auto process in VOB Blanker for this movie and should have blanked out somethings manually? Or maybe am I being impacted by these cracking Engines you are talking about? And lets say these engines are running, how does this have a direct effect on VOB Blankers abilities? Regardless of the problem this is something that I would like to know... And how do you tell if these Engines are running in the background of your PC? I once had anyDVD installed but uninstalled it as I thought it was crap.....

    And what do you think?

Honestly, I really don't know why some (few people) are getting some smaller files (GB) after just processing through VobBlanker 2.1.0.0, maybe there's something in your system that conflicts with VobBLanker. Like I said, if you have DVD43 or AnyDVD running in the background, then TURN IT OFF, or else you'll have an issue with VobBlanker afterward.

If you don't know what/where to blank out or if you don't want to blank out anything at all, then all you have to do is:

    <> open up VobBlanker 2.1.0.0
<> set input folder = VIDEO_TS & IFO folder that was ripped by DVDFAB Decrypter, click OPEN
<> set output folder = make a NEW VIDEO_TS folder in hard drive <=== you will need this NEW VIDEO_TS folder with DVD Shrink, Nero Recode 2 or encode with DVD Rebuilder Pro + CCE later on.
<> click on PROCESS (sit tight and relax until VobBlanker is done)

That's it.... pretty easy with a 3 simple steps: (1) input, (2) output, and (3) PROCESS. It should take like 10 - 12 to process only. Once VobBlanker is done, the rest is history, just import/load your NEW VIDEO_TS folder into DVD Shrik or Nero Recode 2 or DVD Rebuilder Pro + CCE (the choice is yours).

Again, to be honest, I have never experienced anything like that with VobBLanker 2.1.0.0 at all. So far both DVDFAB Decrypter and VobBlanker has never let me down. My method has proven to work 100% successfully for me regardless if it's RipGuard or ARccOS protections.

    I did Flightplan the usual method;
<> ripped the movie via DVDFAB Decrypter to hard drive
<> have VobBlanker 2.1.0.0 and PROCESS & filter out any left over junks (took only 12 minutes to process)
<> encoded with DVD Rebuilder Pro + CCE
<> then finally burn with Nero Burning Rom

Perfect copy/backup, no freeze, no AnyDVD, no DVD43, no glitches whatsoever, always 100% success.

Not only just Flightplan or The Fog, but it has worked 100% for THE CAVE, Madagascar, Dark Water, Red Eye, Wedding Crashers, Brothers Grimm, The Great Raid, Valiant, Sky High, Lord of War (stupid movie), The Man, Half Light, Legend of Zorro, Bewitched, etc.

    Good luck!!

I was able to backup Wedding Crahsers, Lord oF War, Red Eye The Man..strictly using DVD Shrink 3.2 to back them up as an image for burning. Did you or anyone else have problems backing up these movies that I dont know about?

Welcome to AD and you're welcome. Yes, there are tons of knowledgeable members here at AD. I'm sure you'll learn a few tricks there and here. However, what I'm trying to do is simply get Newbies, those that needed helps or those that doesn't acquired AnyDVD to get all the FREE tools and will get by RipGuard or ARccOS the same as AnyDVD does only.

Enjoy it and good luck on your future burning!!
