    ripped it ti hard drive with the latest version of FabDecrypter, Recode2 analysis went fine, but when it open, recode2 said that the main movie was "uncompressable". so i ran the files thru VobBlanker, open with recode2 again and this time it went fine. At 60% level of compression(40% actual compression), recode2 did a great job with a great picture quality as usual. i did a second copy with which did not need vobblanker's help, great job also, i just like the quality that recode2 gives me better than that of the clonedvd2.

    Maybe with anydvd in the backgroung, you'll do fine using recode2 or shrink, if not, then just use vobblanker first. Now, if you have clonedvd2, you won't need vobblanker; anydvd or fabdecrypter will do.

    My method has never let me down, either ripped the movie (any new release) with DVD Decrypter via MODE, File F or DVDFAB Decrypter into the hard drive, then have VobBlanker 2.1.0.0 to "blank" out fbi warning craps and junks (fake cells, pgcs, sectors, etc.) and PROCESS.

    So far, I've never ran into any issues whatsoever. No AnyDVD or DVD43 required, regardless if it's RipGuard or ARccOS, 100% success.

    Again, here's what I usually do:

    <><> rip the movie with DVD Decrypter via MODE, File F to hard drive
    <><> or rip the movie with DVDFAB Decrypter (latest version) to hard drive
    <><> VobBlanker 2.1.0.0 to "process" and "filter" out junks.
    <><> encode/transcode with Nero Recode 2 (Advanced Analysis + High Quality Mode)
    <><> burn that baby with Nero Burning Rom.

    100% success, no hustle, no freeze, no black screen, no AnyDVD, no DVD43.

    Enjoy it!!

    i see that you and i have the same method more or less. and i see you are a nero recode2 lover also ah? i think that it is the best transcode outthere. i just don't like nero to burn, i trust more copytodvd, i think is probably the best burning application there is.

    @Alkolol. Ive read many of your posts and found them to be extremely helpful. Once thing puzzles me and I hope I just didnt miss the answer. When you mention blanking out the junk on Vob Blanker, how is it you know which are junk/bad cells?
    Any help would be appreciated as I like the streamlined method you use, getting rid of trailers and crap like that.
    Thanks alot for any help you could shed on this.

    This method has always worked for these stupid SONY movies that DVD Decrypter has problems with (i.e. Error message concerning DVD navigation structure or memory issues)...

    - Use DVDFab Decrypter to rip the movie to your hard drive into a folder of your choosing. This program is very easy to use and requires very little technical knowledge.

    - Then use VOBblanker to process the movie to ANOTHER folder of your choosing. Again, you must tell vobblanker where the file that DVDFab ripped to your hard drive is and also specify a location to put the processed file. Then press "Process" at the bottom. Again, for newbies, this program requires little technical knowledge.

    - Now use DVD Decrypter to open the vobblanked file (open file option this time rather than open disc)and there are no more error messages from DVD Decrypter! - AWESOME!

    @alkohol

    Is Recode 2 a 'newer' DVDShrink? Rather for those of us without it will DVDShrink work the same?

    Answered my own question. DVDShrink works just fine in alkohol's 'how to' in replacing Recode 2. Thanks.

    No, but it's from the same creator/author or developer. The guy who created DVD Shrink has left DVD Shrink and went to work with Ahead (Nero), so he created Nero Recode 2 (which is basically half the same stuff), but Nero Recode 2 much, much more faster and it's more advanced, in my opinion.

    Yes... you can still proceed with my method and just use DVD Shrink instead of Nero Recode 2.

    @Toughsox

    VobBLanker 2.1.0.0 has a built-in player screen, so you can play/view anything you like. Just click on any VTS and at the bottom drop down tab, click on any PGCs or TTN and play/preview it. You'll know what I mean once you mess around with it for a while. Yes... you can "cut out" or "blank out" any scenes, preview/trailers, or extras that you don't like it.

    As for those junks/craps such as fbi warning, fake/bad cells or dummy sectors, if you don't know where/what to "BLANK", then simply just click PROCESS after you've set your "input file" and "output folder".

    The truth is... if it's less than a minute or something similar, but when you play/preview it and there is nothing related to the movie at all whatsoever, then it is SAFE to blank out that certain cell or pgc. However, if I can't tell/find any dummy/fake cells at all using my head, then I'll have PgcEdit to find it for me and I'll just blank those pgcs/cells that's inside those suspected VTS that PgcEdit warned me of carrying/having a protected/bad sectors or cells.

    Good luck!!
