"VideoSourceAVI error: The source image format is not acceptable. (error code -2)"

This error happens when I try to convert my AVI files to DivXs using vitualdub. It occurs right after I click my save location. I've had this problem before(like 2 days ago!), and I solved it, but I'm afraid I don't remember how to fix it again(I thought this message popped up because I needed a codec). I have tried searching this site aswell as videohelp. I got results, but the advice given didn't help me at all. I'm not sure what caused the error(BUT last night I DID install TMPGenc Express), so I uninstalled all of my players, encoders, codecs etc(Dr.DivX, DivX, TMPGenc express) and reinstalled DR.Divx and the player(aswell as the codec). Both are the newest versions.

I go to Virtual Dub and try to convert my file again but it comes up with the same error. What's the deal? I thought a fresh install might help, since I read somewhere about a log file needed to be erased or something(I tried that it was located in my C drive. Cleared it out, and it didn't work 8( ).

    Please help
    - Frustrated and confused

    Any help appreciated
    Thanks in advance!

OH yea, btw, I WOULD convert using Dr.DivX, but it takes about 30 mins to encode a 19 min vid(I also tried TMPGenc Express, same results, but longer). I don't know why though, even though I seem to get the same results.

HmMmmMM... I just about gave up hope untill I said to myself, "what the hell," and downloaded that Nimo codec pack along with this other one called Elisoft Codec. Works now. Wierd, heh, I did opposite of what I read you shouldn't do.
