Okay, i'm attempting to capture, convert, and burn my mini DV tapes to DVD's. after much reading I have downloaded a couple of softwares, to capture I have WinDv, to encode i have TMPGEnc. I purchased a IEEE1394 FireWire, and a Firewire add-on Port since my PC didn't have one. Now what??? I'm lost as to what to do next, could someone please tell me what other software(Free is possible) i need now and what other steps I must take before actually producing a DVD. Oh by the way, yes i'm sure i have a DVD burner. my O/S is XP. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide, i don't like to consider myself completelly unintellengent but this has been a nightmare. I'm never been this confused.

    hi

i think nero will pull from your dv item, but its not free you can get a demo but not sure it will be fully working with dv till paid for????

i dont suppose you know what file type it will make to your hard drive? like xvid? mpeg? etc..

but stay tuned here there are alot who know how to work this for you!

if you get a file onto your pc i can help you from there, but the capturing i am not really knowledgeable.
