My wife and I went to see Grown Ups last night. (Pretty funny movie btw) Anyways we get there and when the movie starts there's always commercials and previews but lately there have been more and more commercials. I didn't pay between $7 and $10 to sit down and watch ten minutes of commercials before the previews! I have a T.V. at home for that. Just when I thought it was going to end another one popped up. My wife said if I complained one more time she was gonna move one seat over lol. But I believe I have the right to be angry. I didn't pay to watch commercials. Another thing that pisses me off is the first three to five rows of a theater. Why the HELL would they put seats there! No one wants to sit that close. We originally paid for the 9 pm show but when we got there it was packed and only the first two rows were available! So we changed to the 915 pm showing without any trouble and got great seats but still, there shouldn't be rows five feet from a fifty+ foot screen.
It is the standard...charge as many people as much as possible, and then make your captive audience watch commercials so that you can make even more money. As an added bonus, some people get so bored of the previews that they go out into the lobby and spend $40 on day-old popcorn and flat soda. Don't go to the theater for 2D movies. They always come to DVD in a month, and if you really must take your wife/girlfriend to the movies, the drive-in is a lot more fun!
i hate going to the movies.dont think ive been since 2fast 2 furious came out.for starters its about $20 to get in and then the seats are uncomfy and you have to sit there and watch a movie for 2hours without smoking or risk missing a crucial part of the movie.the picture looks good and they have big screens but i'd rather sit at home and watch the movies on my tv and get up and take a break when i want, light up a smoke when i want eat what i want not the over priced crap they sell in the lobby.
You are not a smoker are you? It isn't that you can't go 2 hours without a smoke; smoking makes boring things less boring...boring things like the 50th remake of something that started as a bad TV show. A few smokes might make the movie good enough that you don't feel the need to rip your eyes out.
