Its a beta though, and you cant go online with it. just thought i'd let you guys know its out on the news groups.
I read that some people who used this update with non-modded xbox's could still use live,I wonder if there is any truth to that, cause if so they might be setting us up for a big ban,cause it has also been reported that you can't get on live with a modded console. Anyone no for sure if you can get on with a non-modded xbox?I think I will wait till someone post in these fourms before I try updateing to this new update. EDIT:Well I couldn't wait(lol).And some Facts are I can't get on live with modded console.I can't no longer play Divx Files(Biggest Bummer)but still plays WMV(ya),and it does play Backup Disk and installs them onto hard drive.It looks alright(DashBoard) but nothing jaw droping.So if yall run across this before release date, I would hold off updateing untill Nov 19th.And you can't use the avatars untill you can get connected to live same with the divx files.If anyone wants me to try something else i'd be more than happy to and let you know how it works.Also I havent figured out how to switch back to old dash yet.
I am pretty sure they said that if you wasn't down for the new style,you could always switch to the old school dash. Ya I don't care about live or being banned really,So I figured what the hell.It does piss me off tho that I can't stream my Divx movies,I use that more than anything.
Isn't that because you're not connecting to LIVE? Once it's up on the 19th, you should be fine, right?
Ya its asking me to dl the codec from xbox live,Just like I had to with the old dashboard the First time.

i think one of two things will happen with this update,,,think about it you put you burn copy of a game onto your harddrive,the disc only starts the game and it runs very smoothly on the HDD,,so how can they tell if its burnt copy if you play off the HDD online ,,i realy think that deep in this update they do have a way of finding out if you are running a hacked firmware and the biggest ban hammer will fall,,and they know that and they will lose $$$$$$,,or MS knows if you cant bet them _____,,,and as far as a bigger harddrive that will never happen because that will stop renting and borrowing and transfering to the HDD,,,only time will tell i could be wrong on this all,,cheers
Hey all! So I updated one of my 360’s with the leaked NXE Preview dashboard, and discovered that original Xbox 1 games don’t load up. Anybody else try? I suppose this is just because it’s a NXE Preview, but I sure as hell hope M$ fixes this issue for the 19 November official launch!
I bet you that when this Dashboard goes public, that you will be able to get your codecs and also play your old xbox games with a update.As for the banning,it will prob happen with this update when it goes live on the 19th.They wanna make those X-mas sales.But who cares if we get banned I don't.Thats the risk we all take from the door on modding. I also hope there is more features than whats on the dash now, cause I can't use half my themes, and the ones that do work you only see half of it. Update on the streaming You can use Media Center and Transcode360 to watch movies(DIVX) that still works.But I did read that tversity doesn't anymore.
TVersity quit working after the last big update. So an updated version was released. I'd imagine they'll release a new version of TVersity after this update, also. i honestly dont care to much for the new update...i checked it out and im not that impressed...but im sure its still a work in progress...but thats just my two cents...
