Got a mail about the new unreleased EuroVox PVR. Just wondering has anyone had a sneek preview of this box and does anyone have any details i.e. release dates/price/tech spec??? Tombull82
Yes I was aware of the EV PVR a few months ago and have kept track of it: It was due for release as far back as May, but R&D of the PVR has delayed the release so far. But it is getting closer to market. The specs, price , etc. I dont have as yet. All I know is that it wont be HD ready, (I have been asked this numerous times).
Thanks for reply Sc0user I also heard of em a while back but, after a bit of googling all I could find was someone selling a Eurovox with a separate recorder but seemed to be listing it as a Eurovox PVR. so gave up searching after that thinking that was where the rumors came from. Sure keep us posted with any info. They would be handy even without the HD capability. HD probably wont be until the next gen after the PVR box so I suppose?? Tombull82

Cheers Dolphin now theres a blast from the past, hope you are well mate Thanks for the info. I have seen one and yep it does what it says on the tin, still not a full PVR as such as no dual tuner, but looks good so far.
scOuser I've been keeping well just staying quite in the background. As for the EV PVR, agreed it's not a full PVR system with a dual tuner but it will let you watch channels on the same transponder as the one your recording by manually changing stations by using the up & down key. One of the good things is the ability to remove the HD easily and connect it to your PC to work on the files. D
Hi Guys, First post here but I've been a long time lurker. I'm alittle cofused about this box, but I'm sure one of you two can help me out. ] Does this PVR use the same firmw@re as the Eurovox MaxV ? And does it use IDE or SATA drives ? I've it advertised in different places as both.
I may be wrong but I believe they use 2.5inch IDE hard drives and up to 160gb, not sure if you can use bigger than that or not.
1. It uses 2.5" IDE drives 2. The recording time depends on the size of HD you put in 80Gb gives 40hrs & 120Gb gives 60hrs etc. Larger HD's will work but are not recommended due to the extra heat generated. 3. It uses it's own Kuro software which will be available for release shortly. D
Does anyone know if the software for Eurovox EX5000 PVR is out? If not when is it likely to be released? There is no point purchasing the box if the software is not available.
The Software will come supplied with the unit from a lot of supplier's, but if not Eamo's Libary won't be long getting updated I'm sure..
Some things never change! Good on you scOuser. I must get the lead out now and do a Tut for the PVR. Will get working on it next week and I'll get it to you to stick up on Eamos. D
