yes it works great with swap magic 3.3 i have completed the game all the way through with no probs.

 

Just completed the traps of madness, but have so far had a few problems. Namely where the PS2 hangs on some loading points with the disc just spinning and the laser moving back and forth for ages. Have also had to replace the last PS2 as it stopped playing films without sticking all the time and the game froze just at the point when you have to kill the giant Minataur and would never loaded passed the point of the door opening. Not sure whether using the swap magic discs(3.6 by the way) is having any effect on the units laser, as new PS2 carried on without any problems for several hours before now starting to show signs of freezing problem again. P.S. This is by far the best game I've played to date.

 

I have clocked the game with Swap Magic 3.6 and had no problems, except the laser is louder compared to original game but not freezes! this game is great and by the looks of it in the treasures section there will be a no.2, looking forward to it if there is. Also i didnt use the way on the first page cos it kept freezing for me on pandoras temple. i just used pss downsampler to downsample the bonus.pss files to 50% and the rest of the pss files to 65%. and i deleted the psw files.

 

mine is freezing at the Oracle. Im going to use LiveSnipe method to see if it works. So far I used MAXELL DVD-R 8X Media. I burn one copy with DVD Decrypter and another with Roxio and both failed(freeze at the Oracle). I will try the PSS Downsampler. Any suggestions are welcome.

 

Apache wont work !!! i start up the program I click on file ,open file then i open god of war .. then all the files list on the program then i click tools then i click Extract layer 1 then it says save as then i click on god of war then when i press save it says

Aww!! I'm so mad right now!! Because my backup freezes straight from the beginning where it says: "sony computer europe presents" Let me show y'all what i've done: first I extraced both layers, second with the use of sonix god of war tool I extracted the .toc file, third I deleted the bonus and psw files, next I rebuilt the .toc file with the god of war tool, next with cd/dvd gen I rebult the whole thing, next I made an iso with apache, finally I burned it with dvd decrypte with the slowest speed. So what the hell am I doing wrong??!?!

 

what discs are you using to burn to.

Try downloading Apache again preferably from another source. I had a similar problem with IML2ISO but I just got this program from another source and hey presto IML2ISO worked.

What method are you using to boot the game- Swap Magic or Modchip? Cause I generally find games freeze around this point if you are using Swap Magic and the game is bigger than 4.3g cause Swap Magic can't boot (correct me anyone if I'm wrong) anything bigger than 4.3g. So check the size of your ISO file and make sure it's less than 4.3g.

Having got around the faulty PS2 problem, I have now completed the game from the backup DVD made using the Sonix method, so can confirm that it does work fine. Many thanks again for the hard work of those people that enabled the backing up up this fantastic game!

 

well, I'm using traxdata dvd+ disc. I'm using swap magic disc version 2.0 and the iso file is bigger than 4,3gig. And thanx for all the info y'all.

 

@Magri101, I assume you're using the preview of Apache 3. If you're having a hard time with it (And some people are, it's still in it's infancy), then you'll have to make do with Apache2 and CDVDGEN (All available on my site in the downloads section (Afterdawn Modz, notice I'm linking back to you in case you think I'm just spamming).

 

Hi, ok i got a V4 PS2 with magic.3 mod(yeah i know old stuff,but worx for everything) anywayz i followed sonix first tutorial for backing up GoW(PAL). The backup worx until u go to a new scene then the loading sign comes up while your in the game and stays there for ever and you can't do anything... one example is when you climbing that net on the very first stage(Boat) and you are taught how to fight while climbing, once you reach the very top (after second net thingy) the loading sign pops up and the game just hangs there forever!!! I burned it at 2x and used Verbatim DVD-R MCC. Never have any problems with backups. The size of the image file i ended up with and burning is 3.33gb , followed sonix 1st Tutorial to the T!!!!Someone please help!!!!

I NEED HELP BIG TIME.
PS2 SlimLine + SwapMagic 3.6 + MAXELL DVD-R 8X + VERBATIM DVD+R

1.I did the Sonix process with detail and burn it into a DVD-R MAXELL at 1X with DVD DECRYPTER and it frezees at the first time Kratos meet the Oracle. I try this 2 times and failed.

2.Then the 3rd time instead of deleting the pss files I dowmsaple them with PSSdown.exe and burn it again with a DVD-R MAXELL at 1X with DVD DECRYPTER and it frezees at the first time Kratos meet the Oracle. Again!

3.The fourth time instead of using a DVD-R MAXELL I used a VERBATIM DVD+R. And it keep freezing at the same event when Kratos meets the Oracle for the first time. Right after she said "Do not be afraid, Kratos"

Please HELP I really did all that I can with this. I did every step perfectly. Why frezzing exactly at this point?
