xMEL, try burning it a 4x speed, also make sure u are doing the cddvd gen part correct and u have all the files in the same order as the original.

Ok i have one DVD-R for now but havent used it yet, is the ISO supposed to be 3.33GB? How big is the TOC file? Mine is only 50.6kb around that?

[edit] the scus file is a SCES file on my game, its PAL, does that change anything ?

i had a SCES file as well when i did mine because ihave PAL also, just make sure u did the cd/dvd gen correct where u put the volume and stuff in, as it says in his tut, but dont put down his scus-(whateva is it) u must use ur sces numbers, then dont press record just go file export iml file and save to your god of war directory, build the iso with apache or iml2iso then burn it using dvd decrypter

Xmel I got SM3.6 and slim too. I burned using Memorex DVD+R at 4x with DVD Decrypter. Works like a charm. I had problems using DVD-R with the slimline!

    Hi Guys,
I just wanna share my views and my experience of backing up GOW.
Like most of you all, you all get problems with the game freezing and long loading times and also the omission of some data, well my approach works as I’ve played it and completed it on easy. I just wanted to make sure it doesn’t freeze and works right up to the end without one hitch and what can I say apart from a couple of minor, really minor skips. I’ve managed to completely back up the original [bold]including[/bold] all the extra parts that, at the beginning of this thread said you had to omit. To be honest I’d rather have the thing complete than having to omit stuff, you just don’t get that satisfaction that it’s complete.

First of all I have to thank [bold]everyone[/bold] for the information and software they were able to lead me to and make my own way of understanding what I needed to do but it was ultimately [bold]Snake100[/bold] who gave me the real answer I’ve been searching for after…yes reading all 30 threads from the very first one! Bloody took me 2 nights!

    My PS2 is a PS2 with Messiah2 V2.0.

Equipment needed: Dvd DL writer (NEC ND3540A), DVD DL disc. (Ridisc DVD+R DL) bracket examples are the media and equipment I used.

Things you need are: DVD Decrypter, (find a link in this web-site if you haven't got it, as this is how I got mine), Toxic Dual Layer Patcher v1.0 (from http://www.backuptools.co.uk/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=2 )

    1. Make an ISO of the game using DVD Decrypter. Click [bold]MODE ISO READ[/bold]
Now select the destination to put the file. Then click the colourful Decrypt button.

    2. Now with that downloaded patch from backuptools.co.uk place the patch in that same folder with your ISO.

    3. Select [bold]MODE ISO WRITE[/bold], make sure your source is correct.

    4. Change the book type to dvd-rom. this may not be necessary as people have reported success with the book type set to DVD+R DL, but to do it, [bold]right click[/bold] on your dvd writer in DVD Decrypter and select 'Change Book Type', click the tab for the manufacturer of your writer, under 'Change For' select 'For DVD+R DL media' and under 'New Setting' select 'DVD-ROM' then click ok.
(copied this from Snake100, hope you don't mind!)

    5. Now burn the image to your DVD media. I can't remember what speed I did mine but to be safe do it to your lowest setting.

With any luck you should follow in the footsteps of Snake100 and mine and start enjoying this bloody marvellous game! Jesus GOD Mode!

Alien13, the deleted levels is just a crappy movie (i thought) but if u really like the story line like i did some of the other vids are good and u get a bit of info on GoW2 by the looks of it and u also get Challenge of the Gods which is 10 levels and extremely hard.

So is the challenge of the gods a bonus thing? Do i have to add all the bonus files?

Umm, im not quiete sure because its not a movie its levels, ull have to check it in the treasures section if uve alrdy burnt it, what i did was i deleted all the psw files and shrunk the bonus.pss files to 50% so i still had them and i shrunk the other .pss files to 65%

Yeah, thanks i did shrink them but cos it was a DVD+R it didnt work :(

Also what does it mean when it stays at the loading screen, the first one "god of war is blah blah blah blah blah blah" the black screen?

I managed to shrink my GoW PAL using Sonix's third GoW tutorial i.e by downsampling the bonus movies to 50% and all in game movies to 75%. Burnt it to a Verbatim 4x DVD+R and also transferred it to my hdd. Both play flawlessly. I've passed the level to Pandora's Temple (where normally a lot of ppl having freezing problem) and now I'm playing inside the temple.

Just follow Sonix's tutorial and you'll be fine.

Alien if it freezes on the loading screen, maybe try using a DVD-R, it it still freezes just go over the godofwar_v3 tut on backuptools.co.uk and check what u did wrong.
