I've been having problems burning the Pacifier. I first used DVD copy 3 (intervideo) & twice in the middle of copying files it shut down & restarted my computer. I then used Shrink and the first time my comp. froze @ 57% analyizing, then I tried it again& it froze @ 13% encoding. Then I tried Clone DVD2 & my computer froze in the middle of copying files. What could be causing these problems ????????? Could it be the DVD itself???? I'm very puzzled & fustrated. I have a Plextor Dual Layer writer just incase you need to know.
Have you tried DVD Decrypter and ripping to your hard drive? If Decrypter can't get through it is probably a bad disk, try cleaning or returning it.
Try ripping with decrypter then burning with shrink iso file mode. Im sure pacifier has bad sectors and thats what is stopping your programs. Decrypter doesnt read sectors just files. It should get around all sector copier problems. Good luck
I would agree with everyone else about getting a new copy. I burned it using Anydvd/Clonedvd2 and worked.
Arnie I havent tried "pacifier" yet I have just noticed a trend of movie makers that they are trying to stop DVD Xcopy type programs that read sectors by including bad sectors which would stop most programs including shrink. I would think most of the problems we will see in the future would include sector issues. I could be wrong but I think thats Hollywoods best defense maybe their only defense. I have only seen one program (dvd decrypter) that solved the bad sector issue. I hope its not the only solution as its not being updated anymore. Do you know if DVD's use a fat type file structure? I wonder if they could put bad sectors at the file index causing problems with sector readers.
I've tried copying this movie now about 10 times and I can't get it to burn. It keeps freezing........ i'VE USED iNTERVIDEO cOPY 3 w/AnyDVD, DVD Shrink w/ Decrypter, & even Clone DVD2 w/ Any DVD, all are on my computer. They all freeze either in the beginning or half way. Using Copy 3 my whole PC will shut down or the whole PC will freeze. Now I'm having some major problems with my computer. Now while I'm using my pc for something else ( not burning ) my computer will just shut down in the middle of doing something & say there is hardware monitor had a power problem. Does anyone know what's going on ??????? Can anyone help ??????
Used DVD Shrink to make a perfect Backup of Pacifier (movie only). No special protections or Bad Sector reads, just a perfect copy! Suggest trying a diferent disk as there may be a physical defect on the disk itself.
@dabig25, The Pacifier is really nothing special, perhaps you have a bad pressed disc, exchange it for a new disc and retry it with DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink. I used InterVideo DVD Copy 3 with DVD43, and it backed up flawlessly. I did another back up copy for my brother using DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink - it also works beautifully without any issue what-so-ever. Why don't you post your DVD Decrypter error log and we'll see what's up alright?
dabig25 i used DVDCopy3 with anydvd and backed it up fine . since it has failed so many times i would do a disc cleanup and defrag. your machine BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING ELSE then get a different disk and try it again doing the movie only if its still screwing up you may have something the matter with your PC
and megabyte2 the bad sector problem can be solved very easy with running anydvd in the background with almost any program dvd shrink dvd decrypter DVDCopy3 etc.
Why would anydvd work for bad sectors? Doesnt it disable encryption? I never use it or dvd43 and have 0 trouble. DABIG does your DVD movie play automatically when you insert the disk into the drive? I have noticed on a couple of movies that a file runs in memory and gives DVD xcopy platinum loads of trouble however if you hold down the shift button while putting the movie in it copies like normal. Just thinking outloud. I havent tried the file reading thing on DVD decrypter or shrink but I just remember back in the day when I had problems with it. I think the file is designed to stop windows media player from playing it. However it always works with PowerDVD.
Alkohol & aabbccdd I already did what you both said. Defraged & disk cleanup. I was thinking that my OS,XP professional is not genuine, it's copied. I haven't been able to get updates because I have no reg. key. I don't even have Service Pack 2, because I haven't been able to update for over a yaer now. Could this be causing me the problems ??????? Should I reload my OS ???????? Sorry for asking PC questions.........
Also do you think that "The Pacifier" might have had something on it that jacked up my PC ?????????? Some kind of protection on it ???
@dabig25, May be you might want to do a completed re-formated on your computer, if you feel the need to do so. Then reinstall Windows, DVD Decrypter, DVD Shrink, InterVideo DVD Copy 3 and DVD43, or AnyDVD if you have them. However, I doubt it's your OS that keep messing up your backing up process - I could be wrong though, so someone correct me if I'm wrong on this. Like I said before, why don't you post up the error log from DVD Decrypter and we'll see what's need to be done alright. Just out of curiosity, what kind of blank media you're using to do your back up? Again, "The Pacifier" don't have any kind of special protection that will ruin your computer system. I've backed up [The Pacifier] using InterVideo DVD Copy 3 with DVD43 running in the background, and it works flawlessly. In addition, I did another copy for my older brother by using DVD Decrypter with DVD Shrink, and it backed up smoothly without any issues what-so-ever. What's the "error message" you keep getting when using InterVideo DVD Copy 3 and your other burning programs beside DVD Decrypter? I'm curious to know, when you use DVD43 on the background with Inter DVD Copy 3, did you happened to open up Inter DVD Copy 3 right away after you open DVD43, and then do your ripping/decrypting thereafter? This is what I do and it has been cracking up protection codes flawlessly for me. I put the original dvd movie in my DVD-ROM and play it [using WinDVD] for at least 2 - 3 minutes, while the movie still playing, I open up DVD43 by going to START, PROGRAMS, DVD43, then I click on the "green face". It will show an "angry red face" for a while, sometimes it even takes a minutes to crack and bypass the encrypted protection code, then once it detects and crack it, it will have a "smiley green face". Now I closed my WinDVD player and open up InterVideo DVD Copy 3 to do the encoding and compressing. That's it... I don't know why it won't work for you and kind of curious to know that's all. Not much help here, but without the error log from DVD Decrypter I can't really say anything.
I don't get any error messages, that's it. My whole PC will just freeze or shut down. Copy froze while baking up files, Shrink froze once during analyzing & once during encoding. I have to restart PC to get it back on . I don't know how to show you the error log..
