    To beat everyone to the punch, if you're having problems with The Pursuit of Happyness using AnyDVD v6.1.3.3 (hopefully you've all updated to this version)and whatever other program you use, all you need is the updated version of Ripit4Me v1.7.1.0, DVD Decrypter and DVDShrink. This combo will clean your files and have you watching problem free. And for those who want to remove unwanted video, after the files have been copied with Ripit4Me v1.7.1.0, DVD Decrypter, DVDShrink will start but shut it down and pass the files through CloneDVD 2 v2.9.0.3 and burn it through there or pass it back through DVDShrink. This has worked for me with this movie and others.

    There are more and more movies that ANYDVD and Shrink alone will not work on. There are other combinations that work as listed above, but so far ANYDVD and CLONEDVD2 are the easiest for me....

    No problems with this one, either movie only or full disc, using AnyDVD and CloneDVD 2......

    I'm glad it worked for you, but it sounds strange to me that firmware was the issue. Firmware doesn't break encryption (at least I don't think it does) but rather determines write strategy for particular disks. The firmware I use for my Benq is BSLB and the latest is BSRB (in essence about 7 iterations below the most current) and that old version and ANYDVD and CLONEDVD2 did the trick for me.

    At any rate, I am glad you were able to rip it....

    surprisingly this one gave me troubles. I can't get the directors commentary to shut off. I used anydvd and clonedvd full backup with only previews removed. I'll try again tommorow... thinking it was some kind of fluke?

    @ laboy

    when i inserted the disc and clicked on the drive in clone.. it got the error< {disc is corrupt or unreadable}..apparently my drive did not recognize the disc.. firmware outdated?..

    on the directors commentary,,i only select 3/6 for the audio...i noticed on some big name movies the director commentary is also on 3/2 so i uncheck that.

    there was nothing special about this movie that AnyDVD and CloneDVD couldn't handle. if you guys had problems doing this movie then something else is wrong with your set up or conflicts are happening to prevent AnyDVD from working; something like that. It's been a very long time that AnyDVD hasn't worked on a DVD.......

    @IHOE

    I am in 100% agreement, that's why I consider my problem a fluke, likely a bad burn. It did surprise me that it didn't work properly, and couldn't have came at a worse time as I was demonstrating to my wife why clonedvd is so much better than 1click dvdcopy. lol

    Well, I guess I'm the only one then that can't get it. It's as if there is no disc in the drive. I have two drives, one burner, one reader, different brands, neither works. RipIt4Me just says flashes "No disc in drive." Decrypter alone can't find it either. AnyDVD is turned off.

    Some people have had success opening RipIt4Me first and then inserting the DVD. Just a thought.

    When you guys were done with ripppin this dvd how many files did you have total...

    Using anydvd 6.1.3.0 & DVDDecrypter I have 383 files & up to 94 vob. Is this right or shouldn't anydvd have removed the dummy files. Should i run FixVTS.

    it never hurts to run fixvts or a similiar program. Did you select the box for anydvd to remove the bad files? It might also help if you update to the latest version of anydvd. you are using a version released on mar 5th... three weeks before the release of the movie.

    edit: spelling

    Ripping this DVD was not a problem for me. My problem is that after I have used Vobblanker to edit out previews and I burn it with clone2DVD my DVD player reads the disk and stays on "stop" for a while before it takes me to the root menu. What I found interesting was that it did not stay on "stop" as long on my player when I didn't bother using Vobblanker. Just for the record the way I ripped this was with Decrypyer and anyDVD running in the background. I then used fixVTS before Vob. Let me know if you can help me out with this annoyance. By the way, once it gets past stop the whole thing play just fine.
