I'm having propblems ripping The Skeleton Key. Is there anyone who can help me? I have DVD 43 running in the background. I tried using Scuba Pete's method in DVD Decrypter, that didn't work. In DVD Shrink I'm experiencing CRC.

Hey, I had no trouble backing up a copy. I used DVD43 and NERO Recode2 using the "slow burn" option. This should also work for you.

Skeleton Key is nothing special, just have DVD Decrypter rip via File Mode, then have Nero Recode 2 to encode and burn with Nero Burning Rom, works flawlessly. Or you can have DVD Shrink encode the files then use your desire burning engine to burn.

AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 work great for every movie out there. I'll admit I used DVD43 for a while because I didn't want to shell out the money for the two programs but you'll never have a problem burning again. AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 are $59us can't go wrong there. The Skeleton Key backed-up no problem at all for me.

Well I had the trial version for a little while so I knew it was better but I was hoping DVD43 would give me at least 1 more update before 10 years from now.

There are a few movies that Clone DVD2 can't fully copy, example Madagascar, you can pull the movie and a couple of the extras but if you want the entire DVD backed up, CloneDVD2 won't do the whole thing for some reason. I love CloneDVD2, but I haven't figured out how to bookmark it so that it records in DVD-ROM mode like Nero.

When I want to booktype for CloneDVD2, I open DVDdectypter, put blank media into the drive, set the booktype in decrypter, close decrypter and then remove the blank and start CloneDVD2. When finished every burn is booktyped in CloneDVD2 to DVD-ROM and remains that way until I reboot the system.

This might work for you too.

@Aabbccdd, Don't get me wrong, maybe you misread my last post, but I was able to get the whole movie "Madagascar" from the DVD, it was the non-video extras that CloneDVD couldn't get, my kids love playing the games that come with the movie and since they have cracked numerous DVD's in the past I backup the originals and let them destroy the copys. Much cheaper to replace a Ritek than an original DVD.
@9MM, Thank you! it worked flawlessly for me. Seems that the Mini van's DVD player likes the DVD-ROM version's better.

If CloneDVD gives you problems then try out DVDXRescue I know it's a little older and has no more updates, but I would be still using it if it wasn't for that CDRPDACC problem.

My Madagascar worked, but can't say I've tried the games on there.

chubbyInc x copy wont do this movie by its self lol

and 9mmruger i will keep that in mind with the booktyping ,never thought of doing it that way although i use dvd dash r mostly Taiyo Yuden of course.

and that one improvement Clone DVD 2 could come up with (booktyping) iam suprised that havent done it yet

I would assume that if anyone bothered using a burning program they would have a seperate program to bypass the copy protection. Using Xrescue by itself would be like using CloneDVD by itself.

NO , dvd x copy (recuse) has its own built in ripper ,where as you need anydvd to use with CloneDVD 2

i did the Skeleton Key with just DVD Shrink on it's lonesome last night..

as to Madagascar, i did that one effortlessly last night with DVDFab Decrypter 2.9.6.0 (free) then Shrunk with DVD Shrink as normal. what i did do was use my dvd-rom/cd-write combo drive (like io do for most of my ripping); didn't try to rip it on any of my dvd burners as i'd done the movie already but it's always nice to have a couple of optical drives..as if a movie won't play ball on one drive you always have a choice of drives to use..
