The Strangest Problem Ever

I recently flashed my 360 for the first time. It's a Benq model. I powered the drive from the xbox (no CK3) and plugged it into my sata chipset fine. Everything was going fine, and the flash was successful (at least that's what jungle told me) But when i was putting the drive back together i accidentally plugged the drives power connector in upside down.

I know i was ready to kill myself. I immediately thought i had killed my drive. I plugged it in the right way and powered on hoping to hell i hadn't damaged the drive. The 360 turned on and worked great except the drive. It wasn't spinning and wouldn't eject. I manually ejected it, and closed it again. it acted like it had no power at all.

Thinking that the drive was getting no power i opened the 360 and checked connector with my multimeter. Power readings are completely normal. Thinking that my drive was bad, but wanting to make sure, i opened up my spare 360 (360-2) and put in the lite on drive from it, still no power the liteon drive did the same thing.

Now curious as to what the hell was going on i decided to try something else. I placed the BenQ drive from 360(1) into the 360(2), it spins, ejects, and acts normally. As did the lite on when i replaced it in it's home.

So this string of odd tests leads me to believe this.

1. That both dvd drives are in working condition, because they will both power up in 360(2).

2. 360(1) Is giving power to the dvd drive as proved by multimeter.

So here is the age old question, why are the drives not at least spinning and ejecting when they are receiving power and we know both of them are functional?? Any help would be appreciated. I have crawled the web for the lest three days, and found nothing like this.

P.S. Forgot to mention, that i thought it might be the power cable to the dvd drive at first but i checked that and verified that both cables still work. I also have been looking very closing at my board for burnt spots, or any chips that might not be present but all seem to be there.

I checked that by switching out the cables. Cable seems to work fine.

I keep wanting to think it's the voltage but ever time i measure it's giving off 12v, 12v, 5v, 3v, 3v. Which is completely normal.

It has to be something on the board all voltages are good. what could cause this.

 

I have checked out all capacitors on that circuit. They are all operating normally. The only things left are Diodes CR1D2, CR1D3. Then there is a Resistor R1R4. So the problem must be with one of those three.

Any ideas are welcome.

 

check all the components.see if there is any difference between 360(1) and 360(2)
